is this an unreleased quad or an upmix you created yourself, Otto? either way, i'd love to hear it!

upmix. i haven't heard, except two Silverline DVDAs, anything else of them in surround.
which is shame, as their music would greatly fit for surround.

Songs in A Minor - Alicia Keys DVD-Audio.

Another monster smash album from "the noughties" that sneaked out in 5.1 and so never gets talked about, which is a great shame, as the surround mix is excellent and the fidelity an improvement on the CD too.

looks like 10CC do not generate any interest. that's really bad, as a band was and still great
act of the mid/late 70th with their unique and easy recognizable sound signature, exclusive
feel of humour, exceptionally good recording/mastering/ mixing skill of Eric Steward and after
all, an offered surround version of their hit track can be considered to be head higher of many
official surround mixes done from original multis.

I'm interested Otto! I love 10cc!

I will D/L it tomorrow, when I'm back on the computer.

I can't really do anything with the file right now though, if I were to download it onto my iPad tonight

I'm interested, but when I clicked the link, I got an error from the browser saying the link referenced itself.

i have the same. it's some kind of glitch of Google storage drive. you need just close this pop-up with explanation
about error and click "download" under "No preview available". it will open new page which says "Sorry, we are unable
to scan this file for viruses. The file exceeds the maximum size that we scan.". click "Download anyway" and that's all.
file is 99.4mb but google has fairly wide bandwith and download can be completed just in couple mins. depending on
DL speed of particular user.
file is .mlp thus can be utilized in foobar on PC or from USB stick, hooked to DVD-A player or burnt to rewritable DVD/CD
as a data.

Captain & Me DVDA - The Woobie Loobie Schmoobie Doobies.

OH HOW I LOVE THIS ALBUM IN 5.1..!! Elliot Scheiner you are a geeeeeeniusssss..!!!

(oops.. got carried away..!!)

:smokin :smokin

Liberation - The Best of Hugh Masakela (SACD).

There's a fair bit of double-stereo but its very artfully mixed and the truly discrete high points of the surround mix on this literally have me grinning from ear-to-ear, its so sympathetically mixed, so propulsive and engaging and the fidelity's fantastic.

I'm especially grateful to QuadLinda for mentioning this on QQ one time.

Easily one of my favourite Hi-Res/surround purchases all year -- just superb!

Ok, time for a beer and a

Bring on the weekend in Surround Sound! Yeeeeeaaayyyy!!

Dance With My Father - Luther Vandross (DVD-A).

mmm.. sooo smooth and heavenly in surround.

probably the nicest combination of really great discrete mix and solid album of all the J Records DVD-A's (I've heard, so far...) ..in fact, I'm not sure how many there were in all..!? they were certainly not easy to get here in the UK.

I've got the Rod American Songbook DVDA (a bit lacking in all areas), the Alicia Keys DVDA (which is no slouch in the album, sound & surround departments) and the Wyclef Jean DVDA (which I can take or leave, in all honesty).. what other Hi-Res surround did the J Records label release back in the day?

Halloween - Francis Vincent Zappa DVD-A

The Zappa "Halloween" disc has become a family tradition around these parts at this time of the year. They know it's coming, they just don't know when........
Kind of like Abbott & Costello's "March of the Wooden Soldiers" for Christmas! I grew up in a strange household.....

had the Zappa in last nite.

George Harrison with Eric Clapton/Live in Japan/SACD Hybrid/ONLY!
Don't all jump down my throat at once; I know the dynamic range sucks,
but hey, "If I Needed Someone"," Isn't it a Pity", "Taxman"," While My Guitar Gently Weeps"
For what it's worth, some awesome George/EC collaborations
BTW: The SACD is the ONLY version, remotely worth listening to; the others are warbled garbage.

This is another excellent dvd-a that gets overlooked. I love it when there's real extra material other than pictures and lyrics. I believe there are 2 or 3 music videos in this one. It took me a while finding a mint copy for myself last year.
