Wow! Really!? If Sony and Acoustic Sounds are still dishing out that Elton SACD sampler now (approx 10 years later!) as representative of the kind of quality and superb surround sound the format can deliver, could they please be gorgeous wonderful darlings and be so kind as to release the remaining SACDs of Caribou, Rock Of The Westies, Blue Moves and Don't Shoot Me.. that they left on the shelf together with this old SACD compilation sampler??? Pretty Please!!! :D

You never know. Acoustic Sounds has done Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd in Surround SACD with Roger Waters in Stereo SACD coming up.

Hi Again Disclord

Although the term "Quintaphonic" sounds a bit 50's maybe???

Any one else have a suggestion for some snappy names? (I know this is not the right place but "what the hell!")

Chucky

How about: Analog Surround Synthesizer

Hi Q8

Trouble is the SM is mostly digital DSP plus some analogue pre conditioning. But thanks for the input.

Rachmaninov - Tchaikovsky: Piano Trios. Tacet Label. 5.1 DVD-A.

I am not a listener of classical music. I probably last played this one more than a year ago and it is the first time on my current system. It was magnificent. Piano, violin, and cello. There are 2 versions of the 5.1 dvd-a: Tacet Real Surround Sound; and Tacet Moving Real Surround Sound where the instruments change positions in the surround field. Tonight I listened to the Moving surround. Generally I don't enjoy listening to classical music but somehow this recording just made me listen from start to end.

Saturday was a lovely catch up session with the items that arrived while I was in Vegas this past week. First was Jethro Tull - Benefit DVDV, then Blackfield IV DVDA, followed by Stickmen -Deep. Had to play the Blackfield again picking up my son in mom's TL. He agreed it sounded great and the material was better than expected. Listened to it again in stereo in another car this evening. Next shipment due Wednesday.

What about:

Digital Universal Matrixed Advanced Surround Sythesizer

Kinda catchy don't ya think?
