YES, wish it was that title but 2nd best for me any way is I finally got my copy of XTC which immediately, well not that immediate had to help with some house cleaning as guests coming over but as soon as I could sat down to listen to Nonsuch, it did not disappoint, another SW winner.

The ELO 40th Anniversary DVD - Since I'm away from home though I can't listen to it in true quad so I'm listening to it on my laptop playing the DTS quad version through headphones with Dolby Headphone turned on. Although the 'virtual' surround systems don't really work for me, I've ran test tones through the system enough that I know where each channel is positioned in the 'headphone' space, so I can get an idea of the mix. I must say, it's really cool - and I hadn't realized this was the "No Answer" album - I just didn't look closely at the track listing. I'm really glad to have this though because it was a great deal and one that I know will be getting a lot of play. I just wish the SQ Encoded version had been included though since the matrix decoding brings out extra spaciousness that can sometimes make a matrix mix sound better than the discrete version - and it's always nice to have all versions, especially EMI SQ since they used their own custom built SQ position encoder that had much better sounding phase shifters than CBS' 4210 and 4211 encoders.

Whilst I defer to your vastly superior knowledge that the SQ version would be better, I still think this is one of the most fun surround albums I've purchased in a long time. It's probably got a lot to do with the musical material as much as the mix, as well as the stature of this album in pop history itself. I just find it so much fun to listen to :)

Funnily enough, here in the UK, we have an annual charity telethon called 'Children In Need' and in recent years there has been a live music performance show to go with it, gathering many famous names to perform a few songs each. This year, the show was closed by Jeff Lynne and Richard Tandy, accompanied by the house band, where they performed 'Livin' Thing' and 'Mr Blue Sky'. Whilst it was apparent that a lot of the music was pre-recorded, it was great to hear and see Jeff and The Tandyman on stage once more :)

you were talking about a name
for your stereo processing
And I through that one in.
