"Oedipus Tyrannus" from Tangerine Dream "In Search Of Hades" box, brilliant Steven Wilson 5.1 mix of this fabled lost album. I've blathered about this in other threads. Can't...stop...listening.....help....me.
i think we may be talking about two different Jeff Beck BBB's here?
looks like edisonbaggins is referring to Blow By Blow and you are referring to Beck Bogert Appice!
I was talking about the Beck Bogart Appice.
...and listening to now in surround, you find me back in my happy place!
Welcome to MFSB heaven
as much as i love them, three copies of the SQ LP (including the ultra-rare Israeli SQ Quadra pressing) all had their issues.. two were pressed off-centre pretty badly, strings and horns "wowed" throughout (not ideal on a horn and string-laden album!) even the still-sealed copy of the SQ Quad i picked up more recently (the one in the piccy with the hype sticker for "The Zip" on it) was a snap crackle and popper even after several cleans through my RCM - and hey presto, "alakazam!" the Wizard Of Watford waves his magic wand and just one SACD makes all the LPs obsolete. they're lovely to look at but it's the shiny wee Super Audio optical marvel (SACD = £11.99 vs. $120 for the 3 x SQ LPs!) i'll be spinning from now on!

And that 'wasted' $120 for the INFERIOR SQ Vinyl, I'm sure, could keep my handsome devil in Pinot Grigio for many a week end to come!
BTW, how is the MFSB Stereo SACD remaster of Summertime?
it felt like a natural transition from Philadelphia International's interpretation of "Philadelphia Freedom" on a brand new Quad SACD from the best label in Watford to an old 5.1 SACD from the bespectacled gap-toothed spangly wee Watfordian himself..
yes its "Captain Utterly Butterly Reginald Fantesticles And The Reverse Quad Cowgirl!"
rock and fudging roll woooooo....!!!
"snow,
cement
and ivory young towers..
someone called us Babylon,
those hungry hunters
tracking down the hours..
but where were all your shoulders
when we cried?
were the darlings on the sidelines
dreaming up such cherished lines
to whisper in your ear before you die"
From The End Of Watford
To Your Town
Musicmagic : Return To Forever (DV SACD)
"hello my friend,
good to see you again"
still a "10"
Mines on the way cannot wait...and listening to now in surround, you find me back in my happy place!
