Although I do like 52nd St. & Stranger better, Streetlife is a wonderful album. Los Angelinos & Root Beer Rag!! A great Quad made better on 4.0 SACD. While you're at it, pick up Turnstiles on SQ LP. Another wonderful album "from the attic". As soon as I'm done listening to Azteca's Pyramid synthesized from Blu-Spec CD, I'm going to fire up the SQD-2020 and spin Turnstiles.

Hanging out on the beaches with their Mexican reefers...

Oh yes Linda! The Turnstiles SQ is wonderful, I hope AF take a leap of faith and reissue it on SACD with the Quad regardless of the MoFo version..!!

Billy Joel - Streetlife Serenade - Audio Fidelity SACD

Just received it an hour ago. This one is a Home Run for me. I like it more than 52nd Street and as much as The Stranger. Wow that sounds good!

I played this one four times today I like it so much. Fabulous Quad mix and amazing sound!

Following with:

Elton John - Madman Across The Water - SACD

Just finished: Steve Hackett - Please Don't Touch

I've listened to this album many, many times over since about 1985 when I first heard it. Hearing this surround mix by Steven Wilson is really pretty damned amazing. I think it completely transforms the album and raises it to a level I couldn't have guessed at, really. In terms of placements in the mix, it's just so well done. About two tracks in, I was getting the wow feeling - big time. It's got a really clean, warm and rich sound - I don't think DTS on a DVD could possibly sound any better.

Having a patriotic morning: America - AF Quad SACD (most excellent!), America - Holiday Quad reel conversion, America - Hearts Quad reel conversion. While the conversions I have are damn near perfect I really hope AF gets to bring all of the America Quads to SACD.

Now playing: Anathema - Weather Systems Flac 5.1 HD to DVDA. And in keeping with my musical ABC's this morning next up Atomic Rooster DVDA then AWB - Average White Band Quad conversion (another one AF really needs to put out).

Moving on to the B's in my musical edumacation today: BTO Bachman Turner Overdrive - II Quad Conversion, BTO Bachman Turner Overdrive - Not Fragile DTS HDS.

This is great! When I was younger I listened to my whole collection in alphabetical order, more than once... Maybe it's time to try it again!

-- Jim, off to make a new Foobar playlist.

Well keeping with the B's throwing in a little surround cheat (but a very cool cheat) The Beatles - Abby Road DTS -HD Master 7.1 (converted from game stems if I remember correctly, which is highly suspect...my memory that is) which only points up that we NEED BEATLES IN SURROUND and then the final exam for the day: Black Sabbath - Paranoid Quad Reel conversion.

I wish I could see these musicians "rocking out" in the studio while recoding this... Enoch Light is a surround blast!

Just received this one and I'm very grateful Fred posted a picture of it in another thread as I'd never heard of it before. Got it sealed for $20 from a Canadian seller on Discogs whom still has a few copies for sale. I love the vibe of the album and its songs. I'm playing the DTS 96/24. Another band I knew of but had never heard their music before. Peter Brown's mix is interesting. Makes you wonder how he would have tackled The Beatles' stuff in Quad.

Tell me. Having the SQ Stereo on the disc and all. Is it meant to sound better if decoded than the DTS version or is it just for completion's sake?

Also received the Blu-Ray Audio of Tears For Fears' Songs From The Big Chair and I'll spin it after I'm done with BJH.

I can't tell you how many titles that I didn't even knew existed in hi rez if it weren't for fredblue(Adam)....how he discovers all these titles is a mystery to me(I can't seem to get Fleetwood Mac off my mind)...
