Sorry, Buddy ..... from all that disc polishing and green pen 'rimming' I've developed tennis elbow and those days of yore are sadly behind. Now my discs just sound ordinary ...... UGH!

It's great. Voices hovering in the middle of the room, keys swirling, rhythm mostly grounded.
Some sick bass drops!

I've heard the DTS CD and SACD. IMO the SACD is vastly superior. I haven't heard the DVD-V. Not sure of its lineage, but I believe it's a lossy encoding of the SACD mix. Hopefully another QQer can fact check all that.

Well I didn't follow advice and got the DTS CD. I had to raise 16K levels +6 db. Still not enough. I'm sure the SACD must be better.

Be-Bop Deluxe "Modern Music" DTS DVD 5.1...The surround mix and fidelity is the best of the three Be-Bops we have so far (much more surround activity), but I think I like the music least of the three (the tunes are still good, though!)

Edit: Listening to the "Modern Music Suite", and I have to say I love this music!

My sentiments match yours exactly regarding preferring Futurama and Sunburst Finish over Modern Music, but the improved surround mix bodes well for Axe Victim!

Yeah, I take it not everybody thinks that, but I agree with you - guess you must have a broad sense of humor to dig it.
And speaking of DIG, the Boz Scaggs tune Get On the Natch I also think is a real hoot!
