Are these Vocalion releases 4-channel quad or 5.1 with sub content? Thanks.

They are mostly 4-channel quad from the 1970s. With classical music, the new recordings are 5.1. But there are some 1970s quad recordings of classical music, too.

The fidelity is excellent and 2 albums are often offered for the price of one. They are an incredible bargain!

I believe they also contain silent center and sub, (so modern receivers can play them?) Also, I believe if you run analog, you can adjust your sub for a high crossover and essentially get 4.1 with some recordings.

A bit of quad, as discussed in a recent post this one is 6 channels, 2 of them silent, because some players don't play just 4 channels correctly.

Listening now to this beautiful Don Sebesky 4.0 from DV while I put on my shoes to go walk on beach 5 miles with dogs. Today I really feel like sitting, listening and playing with my music but sitting all day just doesn't work for me. But, that said, I can't wait to get back home and catch up on my listening, ripping, getting my external hard drive up to date and enjoying my beloved hobby.

It's nice to have our drives up to date.....since we spent so many weeks getting our collections ripped. Now, if we get 3 or 4 titles, it's not nearly as daunting to get it done. Damn near fun, I'd say.

Editing that metadata from the SACD rips is a real time sucker, as there are often mistakes somewhere along the line (if you really want it to be perfect?)

Just be thankful it wasn't SPRITE 'cause if you shook up the disc, Gene, there'd be soda residue all over your computer. A simple metadata error. Happens ALL THE TIME.
