From the depths of my heart and the breath and scope of my [perceived] 4~Ears, former English Professor extraordinaire Clement has delivered a spot on review of Life In Surround's Mike Vieira's Quad Spectacular DISTURBING THE UNIVERSE!

Not only was it a love letter of sorts to Mike's stellar accomplishment and a plea for future Vieira opuses to further push his vocal boundaries, but hopefully a rather brusque nudge to encourage Mr. Vieira to take full advantage of his current PTSD situation to create a second, more impassioned musical work......something which I have been egging Michael on to do for the past few years.

When Michael posted his recent no holds barred confessional video outlining the current state of his mind and soul, it was frankly difficult to watch and instead of answering him with platitudes of encouragement, I posted the following .... which my late dad had passed onto me when I was going through difficult times:

THE ONLY WAY TO FIND YOURSELF IS TO LOSE YOURSELF IN SOMETHING BIGGER THAN YOURSELF.

And that was MY plea to him to use the angst of his current situation to fashion beauty out of chaos to create a follow up to Disturbing the Universe, this time, as Clement suggests, incorporating a more visceral vocal passion and lyrics which would cathartically cleanse his inner demons of what it's like to live with PTSD and its accompanying erratic mood swings. Instead of pounding on walls pound on those drums, pick up that guitar and go all Jeff Beck and use that microphone to effectively convey all those feelings which haunt your dreams and overflow into your everyday life.

Mike, WE ALL LOVE YOU and with Disturbing the Universe you have created a mini masterpiece with a sophisticated dexterity lacking in many commercial releases by well known artists. Your recording prowness and total understanding of what GREAT surround remixes constitute is on full display but the time HAS come to go back to the recording studio and better utilize this time to RECREATE rather than destroy yourself and ALL you've worked so hard for.

And in the end, YOU HAVE TO HELP YOURSELF. No one else can do that for YOU!

Your everlovin' pal, Ralphie

Well, I had an album's worth of material written, and was in the early production stage for quite a few songs, when I suddenly lost the desire to work on any of them. 😪
