This is one of those albums which I've had for YEARS but never really listened to. Well, let me tell you ..... It's a pretty amazing disc, produced by the great Phil Ramone and superbly recorded and mixed into 5.1 by Frank Filipetti. And the roster of artists and performances: SUPERB. Who knew rocker Sheryl Crow had an operatic voice.....her duet with Luciano P. on 'Lá Ci Darem La Mano' from Mozart's Don Giovanni is EXQUISITE! As is Sheryl's hit it out of the ballpark version of 'Run Baby Run.' There are so many highlights like Elton John's 'I Guess That's Why They call it the Blues,' and duet with Pavarotti on 'Live Like Horses,' Joan Osborne's 'St. Theresa,' Liza Minnelli's fab duet with Pavarotti on 'New York, New York,' and Clapton's 'Third Degree' and heartfelt duet with Pavarotti on 'Holy Mother' .......in the context of a live recorded concert expertly captured in immersive 5.1, you'd just have to hear it for yourselves to know what I'm talking about.
