John Fogerty PREMONITION [Warner Reprise/DVD/DD 5.1] Wonderful 5.1 remix by Elliot Scheiner who also produced, along with Fogerty, this LIVE show which was filmed in front of an audience @ Warner Brothers Studios. IMO, a Creedence Clearwater Greatest Hits compilation in stunning sonics and the video is exquisitely filmed, as well.

Refreshing my memory of this 12/15/19 release. The Later Years Box Set. This is the AMLOR 5.1 DTS-HD MSTR 24/96 Blu Ray. DR's are 7, 11's, 12's, 13's, 14. The star of this box set was Delicate Sound Of Thunder in 5.1.
Listening again it sounds better than before as I am in a new room with a new sound system, however, still has some fidelity issues and good moments in surround but not great moments.
EDIT: After listening to all today the great moments in surround are the non music, dogs, sounds, waves, etc, the overall music is also fairly good, what makes it, not come together is David Gilmore's vocals at front, not good at all, recessed and muddy. If they could clean that up it would be pretty good.

Well, being I am on a Pink Floyd kick I thought I would compare the 3/31/2013, plastic jewel case version to the 7/23/2021 AP cardboard booklet version.
The DR's are exactly the same, 13, 12, 12, 12, 11, 12, 11, 10, 11, 11.
A/Bing the two sounds exactly the same.
In my case I wanted the new booklet, which came damged, oh well, I'm done.

Haven't been on this thread in a few weeks. Dozens of great surround titles, guys! A few comments & questions:

1- Headhunters - Herbie Hancock Is the Japan SACD the Quad or 5.1 mix (derived center) of this? I bought it on single-layer 5.1, Q8, SQ, 2ch LP & CD.
An ESSENTIAL Quad and/or Hancock album.

2- BTO (I) is their best album, IMHO. No big hits, but great. Have a Q8 of Four Wheel Drive and DTS CD of Not Fragile (maybe it's Italian...) Would love to rebuy them on DV SACD.

3- Santana III may be their best album and Quad mix. I've owned this on SQ (x2), Q8, CD, expanded CD, Expanded 2 CD. I found bass lacking on both SQ & Q8. A bit better on Q8, though still lacking. My most desired Japan Quad SACD.

4- Love my single Layer Tapestry. It is a wonderful mix. Music speaks for itself...

5- The only Quad I bought of Tapestry was Q8. It would rank among the worst "Quad" mixes of the 600+ analog Quads I own (not 5.1). Nothing but loud echo in the rears. They always seemed louder than the fronts to me. Ecch! One of my most listened-to albums and one of my least listened-to Quads. I swear I enjoyed my pre-recorded cassette more than Q8. 5.1 SACD is best way to listen. CBS Mastersound 1/2 speed would be the best 2ch and/or analog. Have owned this on cassette, Q8, 2ch LP, Mastersound 1/2 speed LP, CD, remastered CD, 5.1 SACD & 2 CD expanded. You NEED the 5.1.

Keep on surrounding yourselves with music.

Jacob Kellermann, Guitar CONCIERTO de ARANJUEZ [BIS/MULTI~CH SACD] A simply fantastic and impeccably recorded version of Rodrigo's famous concerto coupled with newly commissioned works. Christian Karlsen conducts the London Philharmonic Orchestra

Markie, many thanks for the comparison and for posting those DR numbers. Think I'll just stick with my $9.99 COSTCO copy!

To be more specific
I used Tidal before, but went for Apple Music when they started supporting Atmos. For me it's a better solution.
To be more specific, my focus is on:
1. Atmos/surround content
2. Library
3. Sonics

Seems like Apple checks all the boxes.

Excited by the push Atmos is getting. Haven't seen this many surround releases in years. I do worry about the streamers compressing the data and "Dolby digitizing" the music files. Wish they would do downloads or physical releases with no file compression, but that doesn't seem to be on the menu.
