Metallica- Through the Never
First time jamming this, which is my bad. I didn't look at the set list and see it was all their heaviest songs. I figured it was recent so how could they be as amazing as when I saw them back in the day. And I assumed that most concept movies are stupid.
Boy was I wrong.
They played like savages. The show was an epic Hollywood blockbuster. And the movie concept of an end of days riotous dystopia was perfect.
The sound? For a live recording it was brilliant. The surround was good but not particularly special. it shined more in the movie portions with the special effects.
Highlights- The Band
They were as hard & heavy as ever and the nice thing was that Hetfield's voice was always the gravel from Hell and so he didn't suffer from the lack of high notes many rockers end up with.
The song One is the best anti-war song ever and they blew it up musically and with a stage effects package that perfectly accompanied the machine guns, bombs and destruction.
The Rock cat heartily approves.
