His name is Vieira

Always caught my attention this name that, in spanish, is the name of a bivalve mollusk related to clams and oysters. Also called Galician or European scallop. "Great Atlantic scallop" in english.
Royal Dutch Shell, the hydrocarbons company, has a shell of this species as its logo.

I like very much this sea food. I'm curious about the origin of the @edisonbaggins name.

Yes, my grandfather was from Tercera, Azores. Heavily populated by Vieiras, both on land and in the sea!

The thing I hate about Quad is having to position yourself between all 4 speakers. Otherwise, the rear speakers will be too loud.

i'm not suggesting you're experiencing the same phenomenon at all but curiously i used to encounter this all the time with the old Quads, things were way too often way too skewed to the back, you could say it was all out of whack 😅

until one day i was randomly sodding about with the remote control while playing an old Quad on DTS CD (pretty sure it was Poco's "Crazy Eyes") and shut off Audyssey MultEQ's Dynamic EQ.. and ohh.. suddenly those old Quad Rears weren't quite so out of kilter anymore! 🤩

many years down the line i've since come to the (only my own) conclusion that lots of modern 5.1 mixes either aren't as discrete, or just don't have as much going on in the Rears, as many of the old Quads and a quick easy way to flick back and forth for each layout was to toggle Audyssey's Dynamic EQ On for the 5.1 music mixes and Off for the old Quads.
