*new purchase for me, man this thing is very punchy and surroundy (y) (y)
-also noticed the LFE has a full range LFE channel

Legendary surround gem mixed by Elliot Scheiner. I will look again at the LFE issue.

I think I knew about this thanks to @edisonbaggins, thank you for pointing it out in one of your episodes.

Effectively LFE is full range. It is like a mix of front channels, with an equalization that limits the trebble, keeping the full range, and with no aparent delay.

Scheiner mix or mastering done for the old owners of Home Cinema systems without bass management?

Guess I need to go back and catch that Baggie review. My knowledge is limited as to LFE creation and usage; I suppose my curiosity on this one goes more towards the recording aspect though.

Regardless, this conversation needs to go to an LFE thread like this one-

JOE FARRELL PENNY ARCADE
*SQ encoded CD / SMv2 decode (03/29/2022)
The jury is still out for me as to if this is "all" SQ encoded, songs 2-5 definitely appear to be very surroundy, especially for an SQ title. Song number one, the title track however is questionable.

according to Mark Anderson's Quadraphonic Discography this may only be partially encoded (but maybe a different mix engineer was brought in later or an error in encoding or something ???)

JOE FARRELL -
Penny Arcade. CTI 6034 (SQ)
{No indication of quad except "SQ"' prefix written in the run-out area on
both sides, other copies have the "Q" scratched out. Possible that not all
songs were mixed for SQ so company did not want to release as a quad record}"

Recently picked up a copy of Walter Trout And The Radicals ‎– Relentless. Looks like only one person on here has mentioned it. Apparently pressed in the Netherlands, and appears to go for around $35 mail order. I listened to the whole disc. The music is electric blues - very competent and a nice listen. The surround mix is audience and ambience in the rears, which is not my favorite approach. The vocals are mostly in the center - if you drop that out they are only faint in the RF & LF, and ambient in the rears. Not a bad disc, but no great shakes for surround.
