You inspired me to revisit a stellar Impulse! release that i cleaned yesterday. This one is another absolute STUNNER!

Now this one could be a D-V four-fer! How Quadrappropriate! What i wouldn't give to have the wizard work his magic on all of these Impulse! titles!

I have most of them on RBCD and they thus should retain their QS encoding. Just checked with CDJapan and all of Barbieri's Impulse Japanese pressings are sadly OOP!

At some point yes, but just trying to get my new set up activated [which is SUPER complicated] is my main mission.

If ONLY I was a DIY[selfer] and a computer guru it would've been done! Sometimes I ask myself 'What did you get yourself into?" As frustrating as the process is the end result should exceed my wildest expectations! The only bonus ... since I 'invested' in my new system four years ago [right before Covid], the prices on all my purchases have risen astronomically in step with inflation [like the price of 'eggs']. Luckily, I have two high quality ancillary surround systems which have kept my music alive through this process but just staring at all my new toys sitting inert is the ultimate bummer. It's just a matter of coordinating with my installer [who is facing personal issues] and having a professional from Meridian flying in from Atlanta, Georgia to complete the set up [and professional EQ] holding up the install.

While I'm not currently listening to this album, surprised others haven't really talked about this one. In fairness it probably isn't everybodies favorite, but in retrospect the first 4 tracks are all classic (especially I'm With You, what a track) imo. Great Atmos/Surround mix, and the new stereo mix is great too. One of my favorite sounding pop rock albums now with this new mix.

Not clear what format you're looking for, here are some suggestions.

Apple Music has the quadrophonic album listed as Atmos but with only the 4.0 channels active.

Can you play multichannel FLACs?
The lossless files (along with stereo encodes and other formats) were generously shared by the producer of the album in this post:

Hi all. Here is the link that I made to download in many formats. It’s free but of course Suzanne and I very much appreciate the plays and downloads on all of the legit services. We have no plans to press more vinyl or do any other physical release of this album. Congrats on the Atmos release @Kaspars Barbals !! ...they don't make it easy, eh?

One needs to drill down through the folders to get to the flacs.
Many systems do better with the 5.1 flacs with muted center & LFE channels for compatibility.

I'm trying to point to the Quadraphonic designation in the upper righthand corner of the CD case as i snap the picture. Through the SM v.2, this release sounds transcendent! Perfect for a Sunday afternoon. Highly recommended for all you "soul-jazz" fans! And all you Surround Master fans! Go @chucky3042 !
