I sure hope that every single QQ member who likes McCartney music from the 70's+ own a copy of the DVD-Video, McCartney Years. I just cannot stress enough how amazing of a 5.1 mix this contains. The fidelity is also superb. Tons of content.
Didn’t own it. That’s now been corrected. Thanks for the recommendations.Picked up Macca DVD box the day it dropped. Highly Recommended.
Seriously? It’s sitting next to my The Beatles Number 1’s and unopened Rockshow BD. My The Beatles movies, A Hard Day’s Night and Help!, are still sealed and boxed up in storage. What part of ‘Collector’ do you not understand? Then better play it Perp before those DVDs suffer MACCA~ULAR DEGENERATION!
So, Perp, do you also have Dino DNA preserved in amber from the Jurassic period?Seriously? It’s sitting next to my The Beatles Number 1’s and unopened Rockshow BD. As much as I like All Things Must Pass, I took a pass and never acquired it. Otherwise, it may be sitting next to my unopened box set of Abbey Road. So, Perp, do you also have Dino DNA preserved in amber from the Jurassic period?
Am currently listening to George Harrison's ALL THINGS MUST PASS in glorious surround thankfully [almost] free of Phil Spector's WALL of SOUND:
so did I, but , you really need it!As much as I like All Things Must Pass, I took a pass and never acquired it. Otherwise, it may be sitting next to my unopened box set of Abbey Road.
It's MUCH BETTER than you think. I think APPLE has done a marvelous surround mix eliminating much of the bombastic Phillie S 'tinkering' associated with previous 'remasters!'As much as I like All Things Must Pass, I took a pass and never acquired it. I explored the box set tonite. Other than looking at the hard goods in the box the only item I went for was the Blu Ray disc. So Let me ramble on.......
First - the ACTUAL box. What a gem. Done so well !
And now the disc
EVERYTHING is cleaned up. Crisp. Very Crisp. The Professor - Neil Peart - is crispied up in the mix as well as was needed ( the previous mixes had him a wee bit muddled ) What they did with Peart gets an A+ Geddy. Fucking Geddy. I just dont know what to say -----its so freaking BASS pure now. Incredible.
Lurch - Did they re-record off the fret ? The mix just freaking screams Gibson. GIBSON
The 5,1 does not rely on gimmicks. It relies on three accomplished musicians. What you get in the 5.1 is a classic album with a fantastic mix showcasing three incredible musicians. Pure and simple
This package drips quality. One of the best box sets I have ever purchased. ( BTW - the props/ visuals --books - in Losing It damn near made me lose it )
Ghost Rider
Jack, relax
Get busy with the facts
No zodiacs or almanacs, no maniacs in polyester slacks
Just the facts
Gonna kick some gluteus max
It's a parallax, you dig?
You move around, the small gets big, it's a rig
It's action, reaction, random interaction
So who's afraid of a little abstraction?
Can get no satisfaction from the facts?
You better run, homeboy
A fact's a fact from Nome to Rome, boy
What's the deal?
Spin the wheel if the dice are hot take a shot
Play your cards show us what you got
What you're holding
If the cards are cold don't go folding
Lady luck is golden
She favors the bold, that's cold
Stop throwing stones, the night has a thousand saxophones
So get out there and rock and roll the bones
Get busy
This Abbey Road Blu-ray blew me away so much, especially I Want You & The End, I sold all my VINYL, and now I’m a converted multichannel enthusiast !As much as I like All Things Must Pass, I took a pass and never acquired it. Otherwise, it may be sitting next to my unopened box set of Abbey Road.
