Just fired mine up. Did you notice the first note clipped off of the Atmos version of One More Red Nightmare?
OPPO BDP-103 - I've re-cued it several times. Stereo and 5.1 versions are intact.
Yes I'm getting this, Sony ubp-x800, I usually let it start and then use the skip back button, to start the song from the beginning. There are other titles where I've seen this mentioned and I've not been affected, but with Red I am, sadly.

@timbre4 This seems to be an issue with the BDP-103D (maybe not limited only to it, dunno) because @kap'n krunch was having the same issue with another disc - XTC Skylarking maybe? Where other player playing the same disc don't have this issue. I feel like it's not that the audio is actually clipped off, it's something to do with the Oppo not alerting the amp quickly enough to the format it's going to send through, so the amp mutes it until it knows what format the signal is in.
It seems odd to me that it would only do it for one track and not all album tracks.
Why do the stereo and 5.1 versions (alongside in sync) of the same song play fine?

EDIT: Sony X700 (so presumably the 2017 Sony X800 in the house) and the Oppo BDP-93 (quad system) play the track as expected.

As Jedi Joker said, it is a HDMI handshake issue.
When I make DTSMA discs, I add 3 seconds of silence to the first track to give the player and amp a moment to activate the decoder.

Still seems odd to me that it happens ONLY the 3rd cut out of 5 tracks. Disc starts fine from the beginning.
Does the stereo or 5.1 stream in parallel present a different burden to HDMI? I'd think they would all have this issue.

Moved on to the new Tears For Fears disc now.

psyching myself up for too many hours of football. It'll end in a harrowing story with the Vikings,

I'm still totally absorbed with the new PT - FOAB release. I'll admit Nil Recurring is not among my favorites, but it and the video material combined make me a happy buyer.
Hope to get into the 5 CD's soon.. all ripped and ready.
Always get a little jolt from the young age of the actors - but that was sort of the point, eh?

And for more absolutely stunning music from Argentina look no further than this magnificent and ultra discrete dualdisc from Native Argentinian composer Lalo Schifrin LETTERS FROM ARGENTINA [Aleph Records/MLP DVD~A 5.1/96/24]

Does this have a specific 5.1 remix credit?

Sidenote, it's a shame that Schifrin didn't do more 5.1 mixes of the stuff he recorded for his own Aleph label - the Jazz Meets the Symphony series are great, and perfect fodder for the surround treatment.

It specifies 'mixing engineer:' Gustavo Borner @ Igloo Music, Burbank, CA who is also credited with the digital editing and mastering.

Whoever it was on this forum that turned me on to this recording, I am eternally grateful. Thank you! :tiphat:

Hmmm. Makes me wonder if someone could do an Atmos mix of this one....
Why would they since all the Beatles' albums are being released in 5.1 or ATMOS [with the exception of Revolver]. I still maintain Sir George was the mastermind behind the LOVE release even though it was alleged he was deaf. The LOVE album is still my go to Beatles' album when friends come over. It sounds INCREDIBLE!

guys.. I am getting tired of stating that I have been doing QC for many a BD titles and I am a pro and I know how to troubleshoot my gear and I have tried absolutely everything under the Sun to try to have this play like it should, now, I know other users have no problem with this disc so I am going to have to blame it on
-SHODDY authoring, I did talk to a pro and he told me that it's 99% probable that it's the authoring
-my Tonewinner receiver because if other Oppo BP-103 users have no problem I see how mine is not playing it correctly.
Yes, I know it's an HDMI issue, and I give up if no one else wants to express their problem to whoever is available, SDE because it is the seller and because Andy nor Ape are available to send them anything (a very good sign of them knowing it's a ****** product)...

NOBODY 'Krunches' the numbers quite like the KAP but I have to admit on my system utilizing the OPPO 205 I have NO SUCH ISSUES and it is HDMI connected as well. Plays flawlessly and is actually one of THE BEST SOUNDING ATMOS DISCS IN MY COLLECTION!
