Markie, that Steve Earle GUITAR TOWN on SACD is a CLASSIC and glad you sprung for the Morricone disc......it's pretty amazing.

Same here, Mark! Steve Earle looks great. I'll have to keep an eye out for a deal on that one. Thanks for the tip! I've been digging through my discs looking for country this week. Now I'm listening to some Bluegrass with Sticks & Stones (Stereo SACD). The reviewer on SA-CD.net knocked off a star on the sonics http://www.sa-cd.net/showtitle/7045. Perhaps some Mathis and Streisand QUADs [pretty please]. Streisand's exquisite French Album conducted by Michel Legrand himself would be a delightful stereo SACD as well as her Broadway Album (again, stereo). Mathis' Greatest Hits with his classic tunes like Chances Are, The Twelfth of Never, Wild is the Wind et alia would be a top seller even as Stereo SACDs...

Last night I listened to Andre Previn's The Planets, Ballet from the Perfect Fool and Egdon Heath with the LSO and the delightful and hauntingly gorgeous Ambrosian Singers [EMI/MLP DVD~A]....the sonics are to die for and Eric Clapton's REPTILE (Reprise/MLP DVD~A 5.1]

I love the Previn - Planets DVD-A. Hopefully, Lukas's efforts will get more of those Quad Classical recordings released on SACD.

And a big thumbs up "YES" on Streisand's and Mathis's Quad recordings on SACD. Fingers crossed, Ralph!

"High Lonesome Sound" DTS version sounds OK. I wish I had the DVD-A, I think it would sound much better:

Faith Hill is a country artist, although this excellent sounding (and inexpensive) DVD-A (Cry) tends a bit more toward pop:

Graham Nash - Songs For Survivors (DVD-A)

Mostly easy-going pop songs with a country/folk flavor. Good sonics and surround mix.

Brett, Nash's Songs for Survivors and Songs for Beginners and Crosby/Nash's Another Stoney Evening are among some of my favorite DVD~As. Exceptional sonics on all of them. Played the DVD~A of Faith Hill recently and ironically also Vince Gill and they all sound superb.

Certainly hope Dave Crosby and Graham Nash have resolved their differences. Supposedly the rift started when Cosby took offense to some of the things Nash wrote about him in his autobiography. Boys will be BOYS!

I listened to Oregon's BEYOND WORDS tonight [mch 5.0/2.0 SACD/Chesky Records]. A nice change of pace from the usual fare. The sonics are superb with Chesky's customary ambience in the rears. I really wish Oregon's classic Vanguard Albums would be released as hi res SACDs.
