I hope it was the Steven Wilson mix… ;)

Well of course. :upthumb I listened to the first mix once after getting the new set and didn't really like it. Too reverby and not discrete or clear enough. I think that it's really awesome that it includes both versions, for posterity, but I'll never listen to the first surround mix again.

This Primus is pretty awesome. I heard the crappy version of the stereo on youtube several times before and just didn't get it, and I love Primus. This needs to be heard in surround to be fully appreciated, at least to me. Just wish it was lossless.

One of my best sounding discs for sure :51banana:

I love The River between in this álbum. I discoverd this fa tastic group here.

Ben Craven tunisia two false idols 5.1 dts from the 2 disc set, a special thanks to Mr. Craven for giving me the chance to download the 5.1 FLAC after my hard drive crashed. I play this often, it relaxes me with lovely guitar work.

I'd sure like to give that a spin tomorrow or maybe the Head Hunters SACD, nice to have choices(y)

After hearing this, I gotta buy a copy of Headhunters ASAP.

General consensus is that it sounds even better, yes?

I'm sorry, but anyone who says music should only be mixed into stereo has never heard this! Who mixed this in 1974 anyway? Genius!

I think it sounds fantastic and have both the earlier Columbia and the later Sony SACD's. I've not done a direct comparison but I believe they are the same, though I could be wrong. Prices seem to go up and down but I got the Sony disc at a more than reasonable bite from the bay fairly recently. There is (IIRC) a SACD stereo version too, so look out.

There's no specific Quad remixing credit given on the SQ LP of "Thrust" sadly but based on the other Herbie Hancock Quads that did feature Quad remix credits I would imagine any combination of David Rubinson, Fred Catero and Herbie Hancock himself would have been involved.

I forgot about that one, thanks. How do you like it? I have the surround Ommadawn and Hergest Ridge discs and like them.

Personally I love this one. Extremely discrete and despite the fact that it is only a lossy DTS mix, the sound is gorgeous. (ignore the Dolby track as they somehow sound completely flat, well at least they do on my system).

Actually I may put it in the player next....:music
