I forgot how good Joni Mitchel sounds on this disc...this is just such a fun disc...to hear these stars when they were young and in their prime is so cool...Clapton...Van The Man...and the most amazing thing...THE PRICE HERE

Wonder if they'll do a UHD 4K remaster with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack? [Scorsese utilized 7 35mm cameras to film Last Waltz]

And yes, Joni was wonderful. We DESPERATELY need her QUAD/5.1 output on HI RES BD~A or SACD!

Scorsese did an awesome job!

The camera shots are reference level for shooting a concert...great placement and no excessive pans that I hate...it sure looks impressive for 1976...I doubt 4k would be possible or really enhance it...I think it might take away that "film' quality look..

35mm film has 3500 lines of resolution so TRUE 4K, if supervised by Scorsese from the original camera negative, would perfectly capture every bit of visual info, grain and all. BTW, originally, Robbie Robertson wanted to film it in 16mm prior to Scorese's involvement. [The Monterey POP Festival was shot in 16mm/4:3, ratio for reference].

Woodstock was also shot in 16mm and ironically, Scorsese was one of the cameramen on that shoot. UHD 4K, IMO, WOULD be overkill for both Woodstock and Monterey Pop.

Spun some Zappa yesterday .

It's kinda a shame they only left two tracks on this disc in actual quad , but both great music tracks --Chunga BSMT , Waka Jawaka.

The remaining tracks are good , mostly recorded in 78 in Quad by FZ ., and mixed for 5.1 on 2004.
