Made the Update. The last chapter bug is gone. Year and genre are still missing (as expected because not fixed in KODi).

Full MKA music tagging support was just merged into Kodi 22 3 hours ago. So it will be included in nightly builds soon.

This won’t be back ported into Kodi 21 as it’s seen as a new feature. Users will need to update to Kodi 22 pre-releases to get this.

Kodi 21.2 will still imports tagged MKA but misses some those tag mentioned above.

Sorry for my late reply:

Yes. LE13 has Kodi 22 builds and using latest Linux 6.12

My last LE13 nightly was dated 16th Jan. Since then Kodi has has and internal skinning update so unless the skin is updated it can’t run on Kodi 22 until it’s updated to next skinning library.

I’d need to check Aeon Nox Silvo but LE13 builds up until 16th still run Kodi 21 skins ok, I’m still using Aein Nox Silvo.

Sorry I can’t give a definitive answer, but if LE13 nightly latest does not like ANS then install 16th Jan nightly. It’s good to use.

No problem. I've added the LE13 nightly update channel recently. From time to time I read the change notes. Depending on the information, I'll start an update and can do a test.

I'm using the standard skin, because I listen without telly on.

Thanks for the info Garry.
I did end up installing the LE13 nightly from 20250127, and the ANS skin works fine, and all my setting from Kodi 21 remained intact.
However, when I browse to an album from an MKA file, it still does not show the time of the last track. I thought that was already resolved Kodi 22?

If you are looking from a Library view its because you need to re-scan to get Kodi to re-read the chapters/total file duration.

I just jumped on here to say ANS skin has been updated for Kodi 22, but you've already found that!

The MKA Tagging update has just been merged into the latest LibreElec 13 (Kodi 22 alpha) nighties!! (7 hours ago, its possible today's nightly has this already, if not any build dated 7 Feb onwards will be good)

I saw some chatter suggesting Kodi 22 is on a quick release schedule and will be released in around 3 months!! (official alpha and beta releases on there way)

The build earlier today wasn't it. There's another one running now and nearly completed so I'll install for this evenings music session!

EDIT: That build has failed.

I installed the LibreELEC 13.0 nightly build 20250213 into my NUC and the .mka tags and chapters are processed correctly now.
The Genre and Date fields are now displayed while the song plays. (y)
Last chapter length is also displayed when browsing an album. (y)
One thing that bothers me though about this release - each time I update my music library, it does a full scan on all of my .mka audio files, as if those files had updated since the last library update. (n)

Thanks for confirming, I knew the code changes had been merged into to master and would be built soon.

But doesn’t Kodi always do a full scan from the menu ‘scan library’ commands?

To restrict scans I’ve always gone to Media settings, the Music Sources option, and either ‘long clicked’ on the Source I want to scan (e.g I just added 3 new Atmos albums, so I long click on ‘Atmos’ source, the pop-up context menu pops, click ‘scan’ and it Kodi only scans folders under the selected ‘Atmos‘ source folder.

Or if I’ve added just one new Album, from Media, Music Sources, navigate the the new album folder just added, long click on that new album folder name, the pop-up context menu pops, select ‘scan’ and it only scans that single selected folder.
