Indeed, he's a great singer just not on this album, sorry for my opinion :p
I'll say the one exception to what I wrote is the Beast Over Hammersmith show. He hadn't trashed his voice yet and sounds awesome. You also get Clive Burr on drums... All videos in between Beast and Rio, Bruce sounds very rough to me.

wonderful surround mixes by one of CBS' top Quad men, Don Young.. what else does one need to know.. ;)
It sure is Fred, which is why I was surprised that there isn't much convo on this release.
Some get overlooked I presume.
Don Young could teach a few of these new pretend mixers a thing or two...imo
It really is superb, if this music is your thing.

I stopped going to see Iron Maiden live a few years ago (last time was, I think, during the Flight 666 Tour, or the one before) because their live sound is awful in Paris Bercy...

With your Telarc collection any others you fully recommend?
Or is the list a bit of a mission.
No worries if it is.
Probably worth a thread on its own.

i'm not Ralphie.. :giggle:
but.. imhe, the Heads Up Surround SACDs felt more consistently more surroundy than those under the Telarc banner, where with the Telarc's its more a mixture of some more subtle mixes amongst some more knock yer block off jobs.. its been a while since I played them but i remember things like the Spyro Gyra's fondly if you don't have those already maybe worth a try.

Clive Burr is a fantastic drummer, I prefer his stile over Nicko's

it is surprising how some gems get overlooked.. sadly Don Young left the (CBS) building many years ago but i'm sure he is mixing multichannel in the sky with his ol' mucker Larry Keyes!

Just as I was getting to thinkin I've more or less finished adding to my collection, along comes another batch...the joy of this slight obsession eh.
I have a couple of Gyra's which I must look for in my library ..if only it was organised properly!!

Look here brother - who you jivin' with that Cosmik Debris:smokin

I'm on it now
Piano notes panning all around the room..ooh I'm droolin.

If you make one last purchase for Xmas make it this release folks...okay I'll stop now.

as i alluded to in my little play on words to "Michelle" in the Poll thread, that Michel Legrand Twenty Songs Quad was originally released on the Bell label (in the States and Japan) in SQ LP form only with no Quad tape option and only in limited numbers since afaik the label as it was went tits up not long after it came out.. while its easy listening and patently not Aerosmith, Santana etc., I think there were other factors going against it more than the content because we know that style of stuff sold well back in the day and maybe its scarcity as a Quad release is why it wasn't better appreciated by Quaddies in the 70's and more fondly remembered in the years hence and so hasn't garnered as much attention at QQ now as maybe it should..!?

ah i dunno.. all's i know is we have it now in all its multichannel master tape glory! its great, innit! :51QQ

I’ve been searching for a review of Rush’s 2112 Super Deluxe Edition “Blu Ray 5.1 disc Specificly” on here, but can’t find one☹️ Can somebody post a link to it or please answer this ?

Is this the exact same mix that came in the much smaller deluxe sets or book set?

Your quick responses would be greatly appreciated😀

I did look up the Bell bit as I presumed that's where your little aside was goin (y)..not having any original quad stuff, that's where my knowledge is lacking. Just very pleased that so much of it is getting a second chance.
