Are you a fan of the older voice?

By the time Rosemary Clooney recorded this album for Concord [White Christmas], she was at the end of her illustrious career. Yes, her voice didn't have the range or purity of her younger years, but so glad she committed it to vinyl before her death in 2002 at age 74.

It now has a broken hinge, significant shelf wear, and was the album that sold me on surround sound 15 years ago. I never get tired of listening to this album, late at night and in the pitch black.

If anyone deserves a hi res box set, it's Joni Mitchell. Since a lingering illness has silenced this tour de force, it would be befitting if Rhino/Warner not only released her two QUADs [Court and Spark and The Hissing of Summer Lawns] but her peerless discography including the ultra magnificent BLUE [which was supposedly remixed into 5.1 for DVD~A release] and her early efforts as well, including her fabulous live Miles of Aisles.

Sorry I did not take a picture of this release but I was giving the soundtrack to "Beetlejuice " a good listen to at the end of the film.
It has a music only option , and I wanted to know if they put any of Harry Belafonte in the rears .
The answer is Yes .
There is a final piece at the end of the film with Wynona Ryder in the air and football team on the steps , and sure enough.....Belafonte's vocal comes through the left rear .

But unlike some people I did adjust my rears up 2-3 deebs years back......as I just won't be denied what a sound engineer intended .

Actually, I take back what I said regarding her [Rosemary Clooney] vocals on WHITE CHRISTMAS. Absolutely stunning and recorded beautifully, as well. And yes, she was a stunner and BTW is actor George Clooney's aunt.
