It's simply astounding that D~V is able to put out miles and miles of QUALITY QUAD music at this juncture ...... with more to come. As you intimated, you can buy a D~V QUAD two~fer for roughly the cost of s/h for a CD~4 from the States. Ever think of paying the Wizard of Watford a visit .... with a basket of your home baked blueberry muffins?

if the Wonderful Wizard of Quad were to cordially invite me, i should merrily pay DV HQ a visit, of course!

now i may have to tie and gag Mr.D and Mr.V 'til they agree to at least try and license the Isleys' Heat Is On Quad, however.. so they ought to ensure they can at least stand a truncheon blow to the back
of the knees and a chloroform-soaked hanky, or it'll be enforced emails to Sony in handcuffs under water torture when they regain consciousness, things could get messy.

ahh.. its been such a fun-packed day full of Quad marvels, i just can't go to sleep without giving the last one of the new batch of 10 surround releases (Tomita) a 1st spin at least.. wish me luck, ye fellowe QQ-ers!!

talk about saving the best 'til last.
this is number 10 and its my new number 1.

hand on heart, i'm on the verge of running out of superlatives today for these new releases.. for so-called 'middle of the road' stuff these are top of the line multichannel releases by any stretch.

i will try to sum up the surround sound on this Tomita disc (if it's your cup of tea) in a word, its...

mesmerising.

maybe even that doesn't do it justice.

no small wonder fizzy said his CD-4 of this didn't turn out all that great, i think if i did get lucky and find the Japanese Quadradisc and run it thru my humble vintage rig it might blow my old Quad gear up, its that surround-y intense.

Chicago V Blu-ray from the Quadio box. Working my way thru the box. Was mostly familiar with CTA and II before receiving this incredible set for Xmas. Really like a lot of III and same goes for V so far. Amazing fidelity in general and I love Cetera’s bass on steroids on display through these first 4 discs.

Thank you, Rhino! What’s next from this incredible company?

Just playing through Tomita - Daphnis Et Chloe 4.0 SACD for the second time, it didn't grab me the same as Clair de Lune or Planets Ultimate Editions but I'm not familiar with it as I was those two. I 'm coming round to it on this second listen after pushing the volume up a bit.

SBSS is a great album. The musical migration in "Classic Northern Diversions", with the rail sounds merging into music, is powerful. The whole album is great instrumentally and vocally. A good recording on top of that!
