Ugh....stop talking about that disc.....I sort of want it... lmao
I was reluctant, too, after reading reviews here (plus I don't like some of the songs), but I got it cheap just so I could mess with the levels and see what happened... What a surprise! If you get it, here are some guidelines for boosting the surrounds (this is what sounded good to me):
Murrow... +3.5dB
Thrown Down +8dB
Miranda +6dB
Red Rover +7dB
Say You Will +5dB
Peacekeeper +4dB
Running... +4dB
Bleed... +2.5dB
Say Goodbye +3dB
Come +4dB
Smile At You +2.5dB
Steal Your Heart +5dB
I actually listen to my modified version pretty often!

You know, I have so many "irons in the fire".....I seriously can't recall what all I have on order. I took Clint's advice and made a music order folder in my email and I try to move those orders to that folder...so I can at least check back and see what damage I've done...

That's a good idea... I order mostly from Amazon just so I can keep track of everything easily (also I get the new releases at my door the day they're released)... But it does cost a little more.

...Early morning Floyd, Wish You Were Here - listening to the blu ray in 4.2 sound...

I can only really enjoy Pink Floyd after dark for some reason.

Same thing with most classical music, except during the cold winter months, when Charles Ives or someone similar seems perfect for the odd snowy Sunday afternoon.

This stuff makes me scratch my head sometimes.

ELP's first album, "Take A Pebble"... This is fantastic! Just for fun, I took the middle guitar solo from its start to right before the hand clapping and amplified that section 15dB...WOW! It really flows nicely, and I can hear the little drops of water so much better. I think I'll keep it this way:) (This album is new to me so what the hell!)

.

I carried it around with me for days and days
Playing little games
Like not looking at it for a whole day
And then...
Looking at it

To see if I still liked it.

I DID.

(Especially Blondie, Benatar & Bozzio)

Elton John-the self titled SACD...I'm glad I finally pulled the trigger on this one...I shouldn't have listened to the negative comments about this disc....it's not quite up to the other EJ discs...but certainly is good enough for a purchase....

Not getting to hear Your Song & Take Me To The Pilot in surround would be an immense mistake....

Those 2 songs are on the Elton 60 blu ray...which I love...but yeah...that's true....but I have discovered a MAJOR problem with the self titled disc...one of my favorite songs.... GREY SEAL..is done in a slow tempo on this disc...sounds like crap to me...it's up tempo on the yellow brick road disc...and that's the way I like it...

It's a bonus track, an early recording of the song that never made it on to the "Elton John" album.
It was meant to get revamped into the recording that we all know and love that made it onto "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road".

Thanks for the explanation...I do see now on the song list that it is indeed listed as a bonus track...

Let me take this moment to plug the blu ray disc HERE..it's a great disc
