Figure of Eight

Love it when songs shuffle through the Oppo that I never noticed before; often I believe we're so caught up in the "Big Hits" from a title we don't pay much attention to the little songs. This is a good way to really listen and discover those little gems. This track reminds me of a Tom Petty style rocker.

This is where I started my journey with Steven Wilson's music, after a work colleague gave me a CD of this album, about 10 years ago:

My journey with Wilson began with Anesthetize. I literally bought it out of the blue, based on nothing. I was craving some good music on blu-ray and somehow this one ended up in my cart on Amazon. I remember playing it and just being flat out blown away. The next day I ordered another one and sent it (unannounced) to my buddy.......

He texted me a week later and told me he could not believe how awesome "this band" is. lol
Both of us are obviously now fans of both solo and Tree catalog. :)

IN reality, I may have ordered it from Burning Shed......can't remember.

My Porcupine Tree journey began in 2001 or so when a co-worker loaned me a box of about 100 prog CDs a friend of his was selling. I shuffled thru all 100 in about a week and PT’s Signify was one of them. I bought it and immediately loved what I was hearing. When I heard In Absentia was being released and that it was available as a MC DVD-A, I couldn’t wait to hear it as I felt PT’s music was a perfect fit for surround and it sure was! If I recall correctly, In Absentia was my second surround purchase after America Homecoming.

Wishbone Ash Greatest Hits. In Dolby surround. CD

This is a blind buy I have Argus and love it. I saw this was mixed in Dolby surround. Turns out these are live versions and they are a crack band.
There is Cedar processing to remove sound faults. The printing is so small I can't read much else
I am listening to this on the surround master on involve setting. I do hear separation with lead guitar more prominent up front. But this is more like big ambient in the rears. At any rate it sounds better in 4 channel than just stereo. Glad I picked it up.

Update 2

Did I say how fantastic it was listening to the Liverpool football supporters in surround after their incredible win yesterday.. No way could it be topped. Wrong...So Wrong.
I'm now listening to the Tottenham Hotspur fans going football crazy in full surround.
They were playing their second leg of the semi-final away to the Dutch team Ajax.
Half-time Ajax were 3 0 up.
Game over as Ajax are a very good team
Nope
Spurs hit Ajax for 3 second half goals, and won on away goals.
Scoring the third with seconds to go.
I have just had the privelage to watch two utterly, incredible, history making, football matches.
It will be an all English final to be played in Madrid.

Sorry if I'm literally using the listening to in surround thread title, just a tadge but I just had to share my complete enjoyment of the sport I love.
