Hmmmm - when will GOS' copy arrive? lol
I'm a little annoyed by my poor luck with timing. D-V released Tomita's "Firebird" virtually right after I received my order of "Daphne and Chloe" (and other artist's SACDs). Now I figure I'll just have to wait until my next multiple disc order to shell out cash for "Firebird." Like many of you, I'm now waiting for the next big release announcement from D-V.

I'm not holding my breath! I ordered Firebird along with some classic job that everyone's been jabbering about. Real discrete-like and such. Bartok maybe? I usually take the single releases from them to back back and grab something I missed before.

Weather Report Tale Spinnin DV SACD

Please Mr D more jazz fusion.......this is a ten.

Tale Spinnin' = utterly gorgeous -- and they've delivered two other Fusion biggies in Return To Forever's "Musicmagic" and Chase's "Pure Music", there's not a whole heap of it in Quad left for DV to release.. but most of what's left is very good imho! they could reissue WR's "Mysterious Traveller" and improve the sound of the old Sony SACD maybe? there's Miles Davis's "Live Evil", now that'd be a biggy! then there's the two remaining Herbie Hancock's "Sextant" (amazing Quad mix!) & "Secrets" (not so great a mix but it'd be nice to have it from the masters).. ooh and the marvellous Mahavishnu Orchestra live Quad "Between Nothingness And Eternity" (great discrete mix btw).. there's Azteca's debut which has been recently discussed at QQ (and is another fab ol' Quad!) or DV may venture into the numerous Santana Quads, "Love Devotion Surrender" with McLaughlin would be grand, the mix is quite something! i'm not sure what CTI stuff there is still to do? maybe Don Sebesky's "Giant Box" has got a kinda fusion vibe going on (with a cool rendition of Mahavishnu Orchestra with Billy Cobham no less!).. might Maynard Ferguson's "Conquistador" be doable? i hope so! ..and in dreamland, if they could secure the Vanguard's, Larry Coryell and The Eleventh House would be sensational! phew! we shall see if any of that lot is forthcoming someday! o_O
