King Crimson Islands. Lots of extras here. I remain undecided about this album I rarely pull it out for a listen. Prelude Song of the Gulls is very nice but is it classical and not prog? Lol. Only Sailors Tale sounds like Crimson music to me.... There is nice music here like Islands the song.....ok let the rock throwing begin......

Not taking any chances today... nothing but the best!

Listened to a dIGITAL tRIFECTA of sTING today: . . . Nothing Like the Sun, Ten Summoner's Tales, and Brand New Day--all dts CDs. Interestingly, I think the quality of the content from best to worst is Ten Summoner's Tales, . . . Nothing Like the Sun, Brand New Day; however, the quality of the mixes, imo, is the reverse: Brand New Day, . . . Nothing Like the Sun, Ten Summoner's Tales. Regardless, glad to have been sting, stang, stung! Peace!

You didn't polish it off with his Live in Berlin Blu-ray? Best if the bunch, IMO!

Oh, man! Another purchase looms on the horizon! Well, you haven't steered me wrong, and I do see the Godfather is involved in the mixing. I'm guessing, given your appreciation of discrete live mixes, that this one is all killer, no filler! Thanks for another recommendation--thank the Higher Power of my understanding that my daughter earned a graduate school scholarship! She just graduated from college, and in case something were to happen to her aging pater, I showed her my collection on discogs to let her know how best to sell it off--she nearly shat herself when she saw the value of the collection! Ah, this hobby . . . peas

I had the BD set, but sold it at a modest profit. The 96/24 DVD sounds good enough for me! Kinda want to have a consistent experience with the other Tull booksets.

I have ALL those TULL DVD/CD sets except for AQUALUNG and what I've noticed on my system .... As much as I love ALL the Steve Wilson 5.1 remixes, IMO, the LOSSLESS 96/24 Stereo Remasters sound INCREDIBLY BETTER.

I'm hoping one day for a TULL box set with all those 5.1 Steve Wilson remixes to be released on LOSSLESS BD~As.

You’re not the only one. I passed up a good deal on the Benefit set (the only one I’m missing) not too long ago as I read it may be re-released in the book format soon.

Also, I can’t stand the authoring on the Aqualung Blu-Ray. It loops “Locomotive Breath” every time you change streams

The thing that psyched me out was the several glitches. I'd sure love the entire JT MC series on BD, assuming no technical issues!

Paul McCartney - The McCartney Years (DVD-V)

Just got this in the mail today. Wow! I’m blown away by how good these mixes are. Particularly the 80’s stuff - when the drums kick in it’s often startling. Paul’s vocals sound awesome in the center channel and there’s plenty of action in the rears, everything from backing vocals to orchestral arrangements and even lead guitar show up up back there. I actually like these versions of the Band On The Run tracks better than the quad mixes.

This is night & day compared to Paul Hicks’ work on the 5.1 mix of Imagine. I guess he felt he had to honor the Phil Spector production style of that album in his remix. Good thing they included those raw studio mixes!
