But he can't change the color on this model.. I think that's half the fun for @JohnN
The light transformation mode where the colours change automatically is groovy man. With 2 sets changing colours it's out there. Also surprised at the different height levels with different sound modes. Watching TV with the Sci-Fi mode on a Yamaha amp is interesting with meters.
Cheers to HiFi fun - A hippie dream 😃

Most important reason to buy: These meters have no impact on the connected device which is as it should be but has not been in other VU meters tested.

NOTE: (4 light levels) I like that there is a few different colour/brightness levels on the latest meters that replace a few less appealing darker modes, the shades of beige are better represented with the brighter setting on #2 meters. Remote works well.

Cheers

Technically it's not correct to call them 'VU' meters, as they're not measuring volume units of sound signal intensity using conventional methods. These devices are measuring outputted power...
Considering that you can set the needles to any level is more for the bling/swing factor or generally seeing the life of your watts. All about entertainment. Nice to also see the life of your height speakers with different settings. For fun when less serious. Never serious to live longer. ;)
