I finally had a chance to play this yesterday after some delays due to the Canada Post strike. This is an iconic album for me, and like so many albums from the time, I am familiar with playing the entire disc through. The Atmos mix is excellent in every way! All the channels are well utilized and done with care and attention to detail. It's hard to believe this was originally recorded 40+years ago, it sounds really great. I also played the bonus material, and I really enjoyed the various mixes. I lost track of how long the bonus tracks went on for, they just kept playing and playing...
The visuals were also tastefully done and worked wonderfully with the music and visuals on the album cover and such. I remember playing the album as a kid and 'studying' the album artwork when playing the record. So, the visuals tied together the musical memories nicely.
I am not too bothered by the 'Doctor Doctor' error as I don't typically play the 5.1 version. I guess I am also seeing it as a potential collectors item with the error, sort of like a stamp or coin with a mistake, which are prized by enthusiasts. One way to see it I suppose.
I was a bit peeved about the extra cost of this disc, but the bonus material makes it all worth while (I would have bought it anyways
