ah shit, I was listening to her 90s live album, blazing away earlier. I read her autobiography in the 90s despite not really knowing much of her music. a friend educated me and gave me a cassette with blazing away on one side and broken english on the other. I pretty much wore it out.

a few years later I saw her performance as the devil in the black rider (tom waits/robert wilson/william burroughs). needless to say, she didnt disappoint.

anyway, if anyone is looking for me I'll be taking a walk around times square with a pistol in my suitcase and my eyes on the tv

Have enjoyed the "VHS only" release of her live concert from 1989 "Blazing Away" I did a digital transfer a month ago, posted to YouTube. Great soundtrack with a perfect mix.

I heard her at Slim's in SF in the early 90s accompanied only by an acoustic guitarist, a current or ex-husband or the
guy on BROKEN ENGLISH, not sure. Treasured memory.
