I have a small C: partition. Please allow us to customize its path, at least in the preferences file.

The DRP program is pretty small. Do you really have that little C drive space?

How can I set an alternative temp folder for atmos operations?

You can set the Windows Temp folder to be on another drive. I’m pretty sure MMH uses the Windows TEMP folder. I’ll check this out shortly and let you know.

I can add two new Preferences for those locations in MMH Atmos Helper.

In the Rename Audio Folders function, no matter what folder I specify in Destination Directory, it puts the renamed folders in the Source Directory. Is that intentional?

I don’t remember. It was written a long time ago. I’ll take a look today.

Yes. MMH Atmos Helper uses the current Windows Temp folder, so you can change that in Windows.

I looked at the code and MMH processes by first renaming folders in the Source directory then at the end moves them to the destination.

Maybe I should just move to the new directory?

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but when I try to use the function, it never moves them to the destination folder. So I have to go in to the source directory and remove the "empty" Artist folders. Another complication occurs if there are any "-" in the album folder names. When that is the case, I have to go in and rename any album folders under the artist folder to remove any dashes and rerun the renaming for that artist folder.

Gary - MMH is a great tool and thank you for sharing it with us. I tried to figure it out on my own but I am not clear on the answer. I know if I convert an Atmos MKV file to FLAC it won't maintain the height channels. If I convert to WAV will the height channels be preserved or is it the same issue? Thanks

The Check for update option is failing to update currently for me. I'm on 8.0.5 and it identifies that 8.0.8 is available but clicking on the download option the red text at the bottom of the window immediately changes to download complete and the dialog appears asking if you want to install it. Clicking Yes it says the msi is not a valid windows installer. The file appears to be there in the download folder, but I assume it must be empty as it didn't really have time to download anything. Running the msi directly you get the same error saying its not a valid windows installer file.

Obviously you posted the link for a direct install so I can use that, but thought you may like to know..... (y)

Its Windows playing at being secure. You have to go to post #1 and download and navigate through Windows options - all though it is trying to stop you!

You need to acquire a copy of the Dolby Reference Player (DRP) in order to extract Atmos ( explained pages 136+ in MMH pdf or via help in main menu).

That seems like a Windows application. I'm looking to playback via my Zidoo device and convert from MKV to reduce the file sizes.

mmm don't think so, that auto update always has worked previously.. There was a similar glitch several versions ago, but the auto-update has worked fine for early 8.0.n releases...

Thanks this is exactly what I wanted to accomplish while maintaining the original channel layout. Thank you

Using MMH Extract Audio from MKV tool to split to mka files will work or, if your player supports m4a, use that at it supports full tagging. For Kodi m4a is recommended.

This tool will rename and/or tag your split files using the ‘Get Titles from MusicBrainz’ toolbar command.

I’ll take a look. Visual Studio 2022 loses coded Visual Basic events sometimes and the compiler gives no warnings.

Garry, if someone just wants to convert MKV to MKA , single file, is there an easy way in MMH? I recommended MKVtoolnix simply cuz MMH wanted to split everything I sent to it ( for this specific task). I’m sure it’s user error 😀

I will have to give that a try because I didn't realize my zidoo doesn't support MKA, but according to the tech specs it can read m4a. Does m4a preserve the 7.1 layout?

The m4a files created by MMH contain the original Atmos stream.

You may be able to rename your mka files to MKV for playback on Zidoo? The audio stream is identical.

Is there any updated firmware for Zidoo?
