Oh! Does M4A contain TrueHD now, and M4A players decode TrueHD atmos?M4A simply works better for most Atmos implementation. Compatibility, tagging, ect.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but when I try to use the function, it never moves them to the destination folder. So I have to go in to the source directory and remove the "empty" Artist folders. Another complication occurs if there are any "-" in the album folder names. When that is the case, I have to go in and rename any album folders under the artist folder to remove any dashes and rerun the renaming for that artist folder.

I have the UHD 8000 with the latest software, but unfortunately, it doesn't support mka. I was just trying to strip out the Dolby Atmos audio from the MKV file to save some NAS space. I'll have to give the M4a file a try. According to Zidoo it is supported on the player. The m4a files created by MMH contain the original Atmos stream.
You may be able to rename your mka files to MKV for playback on Zidoo? The audio stream is identical.
Is there any updated firmware for Zidoo?

Garry, if someone just wants to convert MKV to MKA , single file, is there an easy way in MMH? I recommended MKVtoolnix simply cuz MMH wanted to split everything I sent to it ( for this specific task). I’m sure it’s user error
Keep in mind the join files function in MMH takes only seconds, as does the conversion from M4A to MKA. Are you prepping files for the Atmos Helper decode, or something else?Garry, if someone just wants to convert MKV to MKA , single file, is there an easy way in MMH? M4a was the magical key and allows atmos playback! Now I have a lot of extracting and m4a converting to do!!!! Is there any way to do the extraction and conversion and maintain the tagging and do it in batches?Probably only aac in m4a. M4a is a container not an audio codec.
Have you guys gotten m4a to play gapless? I never could so I rip to mka as a single file with cue file.M4a was the magical key and allows atmos playback! No. You simply have to refine your tagging skills. Musicbrainz is a godsend.extraction and conversion and maintain the tagging

No issue in Kodi with Mr. Mustard and Polythene Pam.Have you guys gotten m4a to play gapless? I never could so I rip to mka as a single file with cue file.

Kodi may have fixed the M4A gapless issue in the newer builds?Cue needed with MKA or MKV for gapless. But not many releases require gapless playback.
Maybe. i haven't updated in a while, but my current version won't play m4a gapless.Kodi may have fixed the M4A gapless issue in the newer builds?
Gotcha. I can live with the re-tagging now knowing that I can extract the Atmos audio from a MKV file, convert it to m4a and it works. Not if you created FLAC files (FLAC does not contain Atmos metadata).
If you created split MKV files they do dot have compatible tags. But you can drag and drop all the album track MKV files onto the MMH Extract Audio from MKV grid and get the MKV converted to M4A, then tag them using Get Titles from MusicBrainz
Is this with 'lossless' (Dolby TrueHD) Atmos?Gotcha. I can live with the re-tagging now knowing that I can extract the Atmos audio from a MKV file, convert it to m4a and it works.
Yes. M4A is simply a container. Is this with 'lossless' (Dolby TrueHD) Atmos?
