Hi J. Pupster

Paul has returned from his death bed and says that the initial address we a post office box. The courier could not deliver to a post office box. He says he then obtained your real address. So in short it has not been sent yet - its in the next batch to go out- will happen.

Yes, thank you, Paul sent me an email with all the details. Thrilled that you're sending them out the door, let the celebrating begin, starting with AR.
I'll try and keep from withdrawalso_O oh right, it's just been all the great anticipation and dreams.

By the way, all done with that flu Chuck?

Really? I was under the impression this was more of a cosmetic upgrade and not many changes were made to the actual hardware/decoding capability. Perhaps I missed something...

Compared to the 1st Version the new one has:

1. Input level control with max level indicator
2: Output level control for each channel
3: Addition of TSS; Two Speaker Surround
4: Much improved analog audio op amps
5: Generally improved circuit layout design with various signal caps eliminated

Except for TSS, yes the basic 3 band QS/SQ remains the same.

Narp, still coughing my guts out as I type this reply. Trying to get better to fly to China in about a week.

Yes to the above. Plus we simplified the chain a bit and actually got rid of a few serial op amps. In the SM V1 we used the NE5532 with a slew rate of 9 V/ us. The new super duper SM will use the twice as expensive LM4562 with a slew rate of 20 V/ us. On Dave the Bitch's and my listening tests there was a "feeling" that it was somehow cleaner but that could be just sales bullshit on our part - or deluding ourselves. The layout is better and that was clear on our EMC test plots.

Haha
I just bought 10 of the LM4562 from Mouser. I think they were about $1.64 . Amazing price for a chip of such astonishing quality.
LM4562. I imagine at some time probably the 741 cost more....

Hey Chuckie: as we all await the arrival of our SM-V2 units, any way you could post copy of the operator's manual to calm us down for at least a bit?

Chris is having a long weekend and my only copy is 4.3 meg in size. If you PM me I could send it.....include your email

Hey chucky.
On the V2, in involve 4.0 mode with all 4 channels turned all the way down on the SM and the level control at half way. Should i still be hearing music through my reciever?
Cause i am and i wouldn't think i should.

That's correct the 4 level knobs are attenuators (12 db) they do not reduce the level to zero
