Was going to add that 5.1 mixing technology has not changed within the past 10-15 years, but I guess everyone beat me to it!

Unfortunately my entry level Atmos Sony 1080 does not offer that optionAuro 3D is better.
Those in the know (and I only follow those in the know) are now saying the "Animals" remix will be released this Autumn roughly around the end of Roger's "This is Not a Drill" tour.

BTW the actual source of this information was someone asking Aubrey 'Po' Powell (Pink Floyd's artistic director) at a recent book event in London. Hoping we will know more in the next few months!

I'm overjoyed. I'm also impressed that they're not trying to cover up the fact that this was ready to go four years ago ("2018 remix")!

Given that their Dark Side repackaged reissue happened (along with the Wish repress), I think chances are good. Will it be a same day release? Maybe not.
No accounting for the 2ch analog line of thinking.
Whatever floats their boat I guess.
Just hope we all don't have to pay for that crap.
Just give me a blu_ray with all the good mixes.

The one album as vinyl, CD, DVD and Blu Ray - but at least no cassette or 7” this time. Small mercies.
