Sure, in principle it supports much higher resolution. It all depends on the record length and how many additional streams or extras you want to put in there.
You can even have a full concert and DTS at 96 24 in a doble layer DVD, for example

well I only plumped for the DVD which surprisingly appeared on my doorstep yesterday.

I very quick play and skip through it proved I think that it really is James Guthrie which is teh weakest link in the previous Pink Floyd 5.1 mixes.

I was quite surprised quite how much was happened in the rear speakers.

Need to have a proper listen at a good volume but I liked what i heard

My DVD has just arrived on my doorstep too  Will blast it out in a few minutes during lunch as I'm home alone :smokin

This arrival and the sun streaming in through the windows has convinced me to order the Bob Marley!

I agree with you about the rear speakers on this one, an awful lot happening there, and loud too. I know this is "only" DTS, but it sure sounds nice :sun

Haven't seen a shipping email for my dvd yet. Did those people who have received the dvd get an email or did it just arrive 'unannounced'? Anyone in Australia have it yet?

No shipping email, it just arrived :D

Same here, no notification, it just arrived.. by courier I might add.. and I wasn't home when it came but thankfully someone was and took it in for me :)

Do we know if Andy Jackson has done any other surround remixes? Lovin' his work on this one!

On an island surround mix!

He has his own company HERE and has played guitar and mastered the first album for THIS BAND and was the senior engineer at David Gilmour's Astoria studio.

Thanks for the info :) Well clearly Andy Jackson really gets surround music, this mix is excellent. let's hope he gets to do some more PF in 5.1.

It feels like we have a surround schism mirroring the Waters/Gilmour situation, with James Guthrie helming RW's surround projects and Andy Jackson handling Gilmour's.. though it would appear Guthrie's in the hot seat where the groups' music is concerned. Maybe he should let Andy Jackson have a go at The Wall, etc instead..?

No, no, let James amuse himself to Death with The Wall and give Andy Animals!

If you clicked on the icon on the left side of his company webpage that says LOUD; he indeed "gets it" about Loudness and distortion.

The DVD is no longer available at that link. Anybody have a new link?

I suspect the link was removed because they don't have the item in stock and the previous link was a July1st preorder link and we have passed that date. I would imagine it will be reposted when they receive the item in stock, which could be 30 days.

UPDATE: I just received word that the DVD listing will be posted again when the new supply is received. Just keep checking the website.

I've always admired Guthrie's work but Andy's 5.1 mix surpasses DSOTM and Wish You Were here which seem a bit tepid in comparison. I'm hoping that this opens the door for some additional multichannel mixes from Andy including the new David Gilmour album which is slated to be released next year.
