I don't know if I'd call this a 5.1 mix. The center channel is used very sparingly. It's almost 4.1.

Col, who runs the AFG forum, recently posted this about AMLOR...Just like "A Passion Play", my copy of "The Division Bell" arrived yesterday.
I will wait to give it a proper vote and review once I can listen on my proper system, but so far I'm leaning towards a '9'.
I agree with many people on here that it is not really a 5.1 mix. I think it's more of a Quad mix. My sub wasn't getting much action during the mix (as was the opposite with "A Passion Play") and the center channel was pretty nonexistent.
With that said, it's a great mix, and if Andy Jackson wants to or has already mixed "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" in 5.1, BRING IT ON!
Col, who runs the AFG forum, recently posted this about AMLOR...
"Some work (about 3 weeks worth) was done on lapse in about 2008. However the project has been shelved (Locked away was the expression used) and there are currently no plans to do further work on it."
So it doesn't look like a 5.1 mix of AMLOR is currently on their "to do" list.
Thank you for the info
Maybe PF will have a change of heart when Warner tells them the TDB DVD's instantly sold out!
Maybe Greg Lake is now telling Dave Gilmour down the pub:
"see, I told you that you should have advertised the separate DVD and then withdrawn it at the last minute so that people were forced to buy the box set"

That bait and switch still burns and I'm totally disenchanted by ELP and their organization (or is it disorganization?). Greg Lake should change his name to Greg Ocean. Welcome back my friends to the meal that never ends! (ouch)Maybe Greg Lake is now telling Dave Gilmour down the pub:

I've always admired Guthrie's work but Andy's 5.1 mix surpasses DSOTM and Wish You Were here which seem a bit tepid in comparison.
I like this. Your cat should do more multi-channel reviews. Start a YouTube channel for him/her and I'll subscribe to it!!!"Tepid" or maybe "tame" work for me as well.
I played all 63 minutes of the new TDB Blu-ray last night with a cat on my lap. At a few points when the mix sent things flying around, the cat put his head up and looked around trying to figure out what was going on!
Maybe Greg Lake did convince Gilmour after all because the DVD is no longer listed on the PF site...
Let's hope David Gilmour's new album will include a 5.1 DTS DVD release too! (or BDA please)

EDIT: I found this on the web - Andy Jackoson in Gilmour's studio!!! All falling into place:
Guitar Tech Phil Taylor Confirms David Gilmour New Album
There have been lots of rumours brewing for a while now about a new album from David including his guitar tech saying David is happy with his new Helios guitar effects pedal.
Phil Taylor said, “I think the Helios is really good – I had Andy Jackson down for tests in the studio yesterday and he thought the same. Can I please get another one asap – this week if poss or beginning of next week. I want to replace the ***** pedal in the control room set up with it before David starts recording.”
Thanks for the link - I'd been wondering where he was at with the new album. Thinking back on the last album, a lot of people seemed to be pretty negative about it, mostly because of the feel and the pace of it. I thought it had a good feel to it, just him giving an honest representation of where he was personally at that point in time. I think it's a very good, uncommercial album with a lot of good sounds on it and I think it works well as an actual album in the traditional sense - which is something that has become near extinct.
Me too.
Amazon US dropped its box set price to $115 - I seriously thought about it - but I have the DVD on order... waiting...
