That's just not right. I ordered on May 29 and my order still shows backorder. I've sent them an email asking what the deal is.
I was very fortunate and received my box set on June 27, three days before street date. I can't complain too much, but my DVD still says backordered. I said on sacd.net that this was more of a Parsons mix than a Guthrie mix. I am really pleased with this...but I need the DVD...I'm wearing my blu ray out!

I'll trade you my DVD for your worn Blu-ray.

I am torn between going for the box set to get the blu-ray or saving big money and going for the dvd.

On one hand the monetry difference is huge, on the other I reckon I will be forever hankering for the blu-ray because I know it's out there.

As someone who has or will have both it will be interesting to see if you think there is enough difference to be worth it.

I guess it depends on how much you like the Division Bell. It's not one of my favorites and I opted to get the DVD, but if this surround mix motivates me I might go for the blu ray later on. Look at it this way, if you get the DVD and are happy you could always wait until the price drops on the set OR if there are some standalone blu ray copies for sale you could buy one.

Thats the game i am playing. the box set had waaaayyyy to much Vinyl in it for my likeing.

Now I am hopeing that they release the new album with a 5.1 mix on Blu Ray. It is afetr all essentially an outakes album, all-be-it a fully produced album, expecting a high proportion of Rick on that

I just received some information from the Pink Floyd store regarding the Division Bell DVD. There have been NO shipments of the DVD recently due to the same "manufacturing" delay that was issued. If anyone has received a "shipping" notice email please forward this email to the PF store so they can examine it. It appears there was a glitch of some type. Those of us that have pre-ordered have not been overlooked in the distribution process by new orders. As far as they know the same time frame exists(within the next few weeks)as was mentioned initially.

Here is the email address to forward your recent shipping notice emails http://shop.pinkfloyd.com/contacts/

UPDATE AT 2:22PM-it now appears that the shipping is valid as the backordered items were only listed that way because they hadn't shipped yet. So that is the latest, until I hear something different.

I can wait! Seriously, I'm going to have to rip this Blu Ray for a backup. I don't want to have to spend this kind of cash again for the Blu Ray. I received email from the Pink Floyd store saying my DVD has shipped. It coincides with the message they have at their U.S. store about shipping in the 2nd or 3rd week of July. Let's hope they'll decide to make this a standalone blu ray release for everybody.

I received the following reply to my inquiry... Then two hours later I received a shipping notice. I forwarded it to them so they can investigate. What a joke.

Hello Steve,

We are very sorry, but this item is still on backorder due to a manufacturing delay. We expect to receive it in stock within the next week or two and begin shipping them out as soon as possible.

There have not been any copies of this DVD shipped yet due to the aforementioned manufacturing delay. Please have any customers who received shipment notifications about this item forward the message to this email address so that we may investigate this issue.

Again, our apologies for the delay and any inconvenience this may have caused you.

Thank You,

Scott

I received the same email as a result of a query. 2 hours later I got a shipping notification. Coincidence? I think not. Hopefully I should get it soon!

Just a communication problem, that's all, it happens. It's not anything "sinister" like the ELP Brain Salad Surgery fiasco. They have been very informative to me in the past so I can give them a pass on this one:)

I ran the tracking number I got yesterday with the shipping confirmation. It says estimated delivery by 7/16 but it has three entries all in the same location in Tenn. Seems like it is sitting in a warehouse waiting for UPS to pick it up. It is being shipped via UPS Mail Innovations which is: UPS ships to your area then drops it off at the USPS post office for local delivery. This method is much cheaper for the sender but takes twice as long.

It sits over near Memphis for the handoff. It was really cool when they "lost" numerous Christmas packages there a couple years ago. Double orders and returns.

Got my confirmation today =) I can't wait!!!

But If I like the mix I'll be very angry because temptation of buying the box just for the BR or wait for the BR alone will be annoying!!
=/
