The DVD is amazing! TDS was never among my favorite PF albums, but I'm rethinking that as we speak.

Strange the DVD never went back up on the webstore. Is this already OOP?

i can't express how blown away i am with this one. didn't think i would love it so much...but..everything is done SO RIGHT...funny how alive an album becomes in multi channel. i will go so far as to say i love it more than DSOTM and WYWH... yeah....it's that good

I tried to express in a Facebook post about Young Americans that it's actually a much better album in the surround mix but no-one was buying. It IS a far better album in surround (and some of that is due to a better mixing job in general).

My Division Bell DVD should arrive this week.

So what is the audio attached to the DVD? Is it a DVD-Audio or DVD-Video? Dolby Digital, DTS? PCM 5.1?

First listen of the BD...recording wants, or should I say demands to be cranked up...And then, it's just freakin' spectacular. Some of the tracks are easily demonstration quality for my system...Not that it matters but I can smell the box as I sit in the sweet spot. Kinda like when the scent of a Xmas tree fills the room...The whole package smells of quality. (yea, over priced, I agree) Back to our program for another listen...:smokin

Oh my, Animals in 5.1 would give me a heart attack @:

^ DEMANDS...yes it do! (at least the dvd does. maybe soon i will get to experience the blu ray) too funny..i can just imagine that sweet smell of vinyl...

Got the DVD Saturday, listened a few times. It sounds luxurious, it really envelops you. The atmosphere, the reverbs and delays are really good. Great separation and clarity. Bass is warm and full. No dullness at all. I like the album and the mix better than the original CD, which I found a bit harsh in spots, for the most part.
Now the caveats, for the two systems i played it on the rears were a few deciBels louder than elements in the fronts. While the drums and bass are at a good level, the vocals, lead guitars and Stephen Hawking are a bit low. It actually would have helped to have those bits in the center channel (I know, I can't believe I am saying that). It almost seems like they forgot to assign a mix bus with those parts to the center mix output. I guess I will have to lower the rears.
Final thought: I really like Pink Floyd's video bits, I wish they had done the whole album. If they did I would spring for the Blu-Ray. Hold the scarves and marbles, give me a whole album of artistry for the eyes and ears. (End rant)

I bought this dvd release for my brother's birthday and it did arrive today. I'm quite underwhelmed by the packaging (plain cardboard sleeve) and a bit upset that it arrived bent at the corners....anyone else have this issue. I didn't open it, since it is a gift, but I do hope there are no issues inside....should I complain?

At the price point that it was sold I have no problem with the packaging. Don't worry about the corners, mine had the same thing and it didn't affect the quality. If your brother loves music the content will thrill him and he will care less about the exterior.

That's what I was thinking....especially at that price ;) Cheers!

While the sleeve is simple glossy cardboard mine arrived in perfect shape and the disc surface is pristine, not a mark. Up to you whether to shoot for better.

Mine arrived today flawless. They hired a precision shrink wrap team, had to be careful not to damage sleeve getting the end opened.
