So no poll thread?
I can't fault this release, love the 2024 mixes and the videos.
Following the mold of the previous Earbook deluxe sets for In Absentia and Deadwing, votes should be made in the existing DVD-A poll thread and the title amended to include the new Blu-ray format. I disagree with that position, as these deluxe sets add a lot of additional content that might skew ratings differently from the original standalone DVD-As, but that is the QQ party line. 🤷‍♂️

I play-tested the remastered 5.1 mix for Steven Wilson earlier this year. It is definitely a more dynamic presentation than the original DVD-A (you'll hear it in the 'Pills I'm Taking" section of Anesthetize especially, the choruses really pop and sound less harsh than before IMO).

As for there not being an Atmos mix, here’s what Steven wanted me to pass on regarding that:
This is fascinating to hear! Even a legend like Steven suffers from obsolete file formats/software and backup issues like the rest of us 😄 it would’ve been impossible to predict the need to export full mixed stems for future remixing at the time but I’m sure it’s something he does now.
I reckon he could still update those old sessions by exporting the raw, unmixed tracks from an old computer running Protools and rebuilding all his virtual instruments and plugins again in Logic. But it would be a massive job he probably doesn’t have time for considering his busy schedule.

Ah. Thanks, JJ.

Still waiting for Amazon to get this and ship it.
I got impatient and cancelled my Amazon order over the weekend and ordered from Burning Shed. Already have the shipping notice from them. I am paying $10 more, though.

Now that I’ve cancelled my Amazon order, I fully expect them to get their stock and ship it to everyone else today or tomorrow.

I too ordered from Burning Shed
It has been dispatched today.

But I won't be opening or playing it until early December. My wife said I've no idea what to get the man who has everything, for his birthday 🎂

Guess what....she does now 😄
Well it is the big 7 0. It's only a number. 😉

Yeah, but it’s a number that just begs for extra celebratory spending on music!

Long ago my wife gave up buying me gifts and instead tells me to buy something for myself on her behalf for birthdays and Christmas.

With that in mind, I predict she’ll be overly generous with Christmas gifts this year.

I've yet to mention the Hawkwind box set being released soon 😀
And George Harrison's Living in The Material World.
And
And
And 😀

VAT should be removed entirely for US buyers.
Just to be clear, the VAT is removed for Aust buyers as well, but, according to BS, at the label's instruction, the price then rises to the previous level that had included the VAT.

I'm not sure why I'm the only one who has noticed this. Perhaps this situation is just for Aust buyers (and I'm the only one on QQ in Aust who usually buys from BS)? But no big deal, I was only wondering in passing if it was the same for US buyers. BS remains otherwise a great store for me and in this instance I have bought this particular item elsewhere.

I get it. Just don't understand why. Isn't it enough to suffer additional arrival time? Which I assume is the case....?

The why must be increased profits.

And yes, increased time and also higher delivery cost. In terms of time, normally I don't mind so much, however I may not get the new JT Xmas album until after Xmas! o_O:LOL:

I can only imagine shipping costs to Aus. I'm not always that pleased with shipping to the US "across the pond". lol. Hang in there, Bro.

One nice thing that happened when I was listening to the blu ray, rather loudly on Monday. My nephew, who lodgers with me asked, "who was that brilliant band you were listening to'

Told him and he's ordered it himself plus he's scouring Internet for more p tree. Lent him stupid dream, not got it back yet
