I'm guessing the only thing different with the SDE version is a cardboard case? 🙄

Well, this is good. US folks can order domestically and UK/Europe have an option, too! Helps everyone with shipping

Q: Is this a 100% studio mix or the mediocre concert atmos I have on kaleidescape?

AI says:Yes, Purple Rain by Prince and The Revolution was a studio album released on June 25, 1984. While it served as the soundtrack to the film of the same name, it was recorded primarily in the studio, with some live elements. Now I am more confused. SOS :)

"NPG Records and Paisley Park Enterprises, in partnership with Warner Records, are pleased to announce the release of a brand-new audiophile Blu-ray featuring 2024’s Dolby ATMOS mix of the iconic album, as well as Prince’s original 1984 stereo mix in high-definition 24bit / 96kHz audio. "

Nice to see, thought it is definitely scant in terms of extras. Stereo + Atmos and that is all? C'mon, Prince estate - you can do MUCH better than that (and you have, up until now)!
:)

it’s been available on apple music for quite a while. it’s terrible. i would strongly recommend anyone considering purchasing this to preview before buying.
It isn't terrible. It could certainly be better, but there are much worse mixes out there that fall into that category. The Police's Atmos mixes come to mind as being terrible.

Has any one heard this Atmos mix yet or is it unreleased?

It's also on Tidal. Look back through the thread and there are a few discussions on the mix. Overall I found it's pretty good, which is the consensus here, far from terrible. Different from the original though.
