Maybe someone experienced similar problems when trying to rip a CD or CD layer to a dedicated device. Once in a while, my Bluesound Vault 2i is not capable of ripping CD or a CD layer from a SACD to it's internal HDD. Sometimes the reason is that the medium is scratched and therefore the BS refuses to rip it or there is a copy protection on some CDs especially older Sony ones. My latest Hybrid SACD (Billy Joel - Streetlife Serenade) enconter the same problem. While the Live CD of the box set is being ripped without problems the CD layer of the Hybrid SACD can't. Does anyone know whether there is a copy protection on this one? It's a brand new SACD without scratches and I also cleaned it with a soft cloth after failing but didn't help. I know that my BS is very sensitive in this respect but also very comfortable with a very good BluOS software and best for me without using a computer so I will stick to it.

After intense cleaning with a soft Micro Fiber cloth I finally managed to get the SACD (CD layer) ripped. There may be some residue from the pressing process which prevents proper ripping but doesn't have any influence on playback properties.
