Record Store Day

Anyone go? I tried two stores. Couldn't find what I was looking for. Too bad. My favorite S&G song is on the B side of this 7". It would have been $10.

And here's why I couldn't get one.

I stopped by my local store six hours after they opened. They still had a bunch of the Simon & Garfunkel singles. (Of course, we didn't have Neil Finn playing at our store!) The only thing I grabbed was the Syd Barrett single. I was tempted by the blue vinyl Guided By Voices LP, but they still had a ton of copies left so I figured I'd wait as they regularly have 50% off vinyl sales. Other than that there weren't really any other titles tempting me, although the blue vinyl Zappa 45 was kind of cute......

Hey Everybody Check Bullmoose's Site on Monday at Noon 4/20 .............they put up all their leftover Record Day stock on the web - first come first serve. Snood has ordered a few things from them this way.

Have had decent luck finding what Me wanted.

Went to Finders Records in Bowling Green Ohio, today. Picked up Gov't Mule - "Stoned Side of the Mule" Vol 2 on 180 gram 12" vinyl and Robert Plant - "More Roar" on 10" vinyl.

I could spend a couple of days and a small fortune there.

I also picked up the 10" Robert Plant record.
Got a nice used copy of a funky Smoke lp.
One store had a Laura Yegar quad in the premium bin, another had it in the 50 cent bin, I couldn't resist that one.
Also got a sealed Ron Steele - Everybody's Baby, -sector 4... sealed, couldn't pass it up.

I got one from eBay, and from Madison, WI of all places...

This guy is selling them for cost, since in a store they would be $10.

I hope you get your copy, but I wouldn't put all the blame on ebay. Did the two stores you went to even get copies? If so, you didn't get there early enough. Ebay flippers have no advantage over you, they have to wait in line like everyone else. I got in line hours before the store opened, met lots of new people who share our hobby, and got everything I wanted.

Don't know if either store had any in the first place. I decided to go ahead and buy the Jeff Beck blue vinyl 45.
