Great album BUTWould the Merry go Round album by Johnny Nash be possible?
It is owned by Sony.
Perhaps it could be a Dutton Vocalion title.

probably because he's been exclusively a Columbia artist since 1967.Johnny Mathis would make me very happy. I'm sure there is some reason it can't happen....
afaik it's on Epic and currently under the Sony Music umbrella so isn't in Rhino's remit. Dutton Vocalion might be able to secure itWould the Merry go Round album by Johnny Nash be possible?
snap! sorry, only just seen your reply! Merry Christmas to you and your family LindaGreat album BUT

the other Graham Central Station Quad, 1975's "Ain't No 'Bout-A-Doubt It", is absolutely fantastic!! one of Warner's best (and sadly last ) Quad mixes with lots of cool panning and effects, a real Surround spectacularWhy not the Spinners? I've been predicting "Pick of the Litter" the last two times now. Not that I want it that badly just sayin'.
I think that we can rule out artists influenced by black artists and focus strictly on black artists. There is no shortage of them.
My greatest hope would be for more War.
I'm only familiar with Graham Central Station from the last Quadio release but would welcome more!
A sonic upgrade of "The Best Of Aretha Franklin" would be nice at some point.
possibly not too soon, bearing in mind what's available and the Black History theme of the next batchAre we too soon for another Rhino Spinners or Graham Central Station release? An idle question…
I would be greatly surprised if a recording by a black jazz artist is not included in the next batch. It would certainly fit the Rhino template, as it were.possibly not too soon, bearing in mind what's available and the Black History theme of the next batch
oh yes, hopefully! there weren't many Atlantic Jazz Quads and most of the biggies have been covered by Rhino's Quadio programme already (Duke Ellington's "New Orleans Suite", Charlie Mingus "Mingus Moves", Gil Evans "Svengali"), at this stage there's 3 x Herbie Mann Quads, "Push Push", "Hold On, I'm Coming" (Live at the Montreux Jazz Festival, 1972), "Reggae" and 3 more by The Modern Jazz Quartet, "Plastic Dreams", "Blues On Bach" & "The Complete Last Concert" and probably some others i can't rememberI would be greatly surprised if a recording by a black jazz artist is not included in the next batch. Oops. That was a typo. I meant "yes" to Spinners. GCS, more unlikely, especially since they had one in bundle 5. Spinners were back in bundle 2!Why not the Spinners? I've been predicting "Pick of the Litter" the last two times now. Not that I want it that badly just sayin'.

Herbie Mann would be awesome and, as much as he's got a nice black influence in his music, he was a good white, Jewish boy. So not likely in this next batch.oh yes, hopefully! there weren't many Atlantic Jazz Quads and most of the biggies have been covered by Rhino's Quadio programme already (Duke Ellington's "New Orleans Suite", Charlie Mingus "Mingus Moves", Gil Evans "Svengali"), at this stage there's 3 x Herbie Mann Quads, "Push Push", "Hold On, I'm Coming" (Live at the Montreux Jazz Festival, 1972), "Reggae" and 3 more by The Modern Jazz Quartet, "Plastic Dreams", "Blues On Bach" & "The Complete Last Concert" and probably some others i can't remember
And one I forgot;There's also these 'Black History Month' considerations ;
War Live
Curtis Mayfield Back To The World
Curtis Mayfield Roots
Alice Coltrane Eternity
Fats Domino Hello Josephine Live At Montreaux
Adam, you make a very good case for a MJQ release!oh yes, hopefully! there weren't many Atlantic Jazz Quads and most of the biggies have been covered by Rhino's Quadio programme already (Duke Ellington's "New Orleans Suite", Charlie Mingus "Mingus Moves", Gil Evans "Svengali"), at this stage there's 3 x Herbie Mann Quads, "Push Push", "Hold On, I'm Coming" (Live at the Montreux Jazz Festival, 1972), "Reggae" and 3 more by The Modern Jazz Quartet, "Plastic Dreams", "Blues On Bach" & "The Complete Last Concert" and probably some others i can't remember
been waiting for ages ....fingers crossedAretha! For those of us who missed out the first time around.
if the Curtis Mayfield Quads actually still exist and Rhino choose to Quadio-ize them, that would be superb as tapes were said to have gone up in a blaze at the artist's home!There's also these 'Black History Month' considerations ;

Curtis Mayfield would be great. I’ve been wondering about the tapes as well. Do they exist, or a back up?

in the early 90's, Curtis Mayfield's Mother was caring for him in the wake of the horrific accident that paralyzed him when stage rigging at a concert fell on him breaking his back, rendering him quadriplegic.Wow , another fire yet , on master tapes ?
Me thinks, Iron Mountain came to be , just a few years late , Freddie.
Maybe this is a case for sleuthing, via @ForagingRhino
I would love to see Mayfield 's Roots as a Quadio .
