Rhino Quadios - Batch 7 - Speculation

the 1972 "Roberta Flack & Donny Hathaway" album (the LP with "Where Is The Love" on it) was long rumoured to have an unreleased Quad mix but i don't think it actually exists.

there was one live album by Ike & Tina in Quad, a couple of Rufus ft Chaka Quads ("Rags To "Rufus" & "Rufusized".. both superb with great mixes), George Benson's only Quad ("Body Talk") has already been redone on Surround SACD by Dutton Vocalion.

Alas, in a different universe Rufus would make for a great Dutton Vocalion twofer!

That is my understanding and I also believe that I have read reports stating that it's a fantastic live Quad mix and one that is more than deserving of a QUADIO/hi-rez elease...

that is surprising, although it's a lot of music to remix and Quad mixing was said to be hideously expensive so maybe the Label/Producers prioritized Aretha in Quad for budgetary reasons back in the day?
