Ricky's thread: ONLY FUN PEOPLE ALLOWED.
I want to see a 5 min time lapse of the whole project!!!Ricky's new YouTube channel will have full videos.
For most of us here, we would want at least 5 minutes of time lapse video of just the media room being put together.I want to see a 5 min time lapse of the whole project!!!
way beyond my pay grade. I'm not even capable of running a smart phoneI want to see a 5 min time lapse of the whole project!!!
I had a house built about 30 years ago. At the time I was working for a company that had its HQ in rural PA. In discussion with people there, I mentioned my builder was starting to pour the basement walls. The guys in PA started making comments about how I must be building a castle and how I must be rich. It turns out, in PA no one poured concrete walls. They laid block. Block is certainly cheaper, but arguably inferior, or so I hear. Here in western NY, only 100 miles or so from the PA line, the overwhelming preference is for poured concrete walls. Of course, as you head south, there are no walls. Just footers (maybe) and a pad. Strange.Poured concrete walls is the main construction?
NOT to worry Ricko ........The BOISTEROUS posters @ QQ Forum will tell you when your 15 minutes of FAME is UP! LOL!thank you Bill B for the kind words
I was hesitant to share this project as doing so seems 'boisterous'. And - believe it or not - Im a low key guy - ( other than NFL football and UofM football ) I am not active in social media other than QQ.
But - Im letting it all hang out for y'all to see. Hope you enjoy it. All of my QQ buddies bring me a smile and laugh and the joy of audio and video - and I hope that I can return the favor.
And in Atmos too, start it off with nature sounds....like the beginning of Close To The Edge. Actually, that could be the theme song of the whole project...start with birdsong and rushing water.....then move on the chaotic scenes as the build begins....the subsequent mood swings ("I get up I get down" - or just you climbing ladders)....ending with you being in a state of audiophile enlightenment "now that it's all over and done".For most of us here, we would want at least 5 minutes of time lapse video of just the media room being put together.
In case you don't realize it, the AV-10 does NOT have multichannel analog inputs, only stereo. You will have to go with one of their older pre/pros like the AV8805A or the AV7706.I listen to a lot of redbook and MQA Cds. So one driving factor is that my Pre / Pro must accept a Balanced analog Input for my Luxman disc player.
That leaves only one to do the job. A Marantz AV-10. I will use Classe Omega amps for the front mains - Left and Right. Classe Omegas for rear Left and Right. A Classe CAM600 for the center channel. CAM350s for the rear / side or rear atmos. And 2 Classe CA-301s for the ceiling speakers. The blu ray player is yet to be determined but it needs to play SACD and DVD Audio. It may be a Reavon
yes - aware of that. I dont know of any 'current model' Pre/Pro's that go old school ( Analog multichannel input ) so sad.....In case you don't realize it, the AV-10 does NOT have multichannel analog inputs, only stereo. I think the very last scene should be the final bill for all this. That alone will dissuade many to attempt and convince others that the man in North New Salem is off his rocker. Sorta an educational - documentary - self bio - comedy video. And a seasoned witch could call me at the very end Los EndosAnd in Atmos too, start it off with nature sounds....like the beginning of Close To The Edge. Thanks Quadmon. Perhaps a little out of line here but that red blanket over the chair is offensive to us MichigandersTou will love your big man cave! I hope tou have some big speakers. My cave (24’ by 30’ is “underground” in the basement. A friend was here a couple days ago and was getting a kick out of walking around and listening to the sounds coming from each corner of the room. Hope your room is all you expect it to be. Obviously, it’s also an all purpose room! Lol
The way to ensure no crawling is to run plastic flex conduit everywhere, 3/4" minimum and 1" minimum if you want to pull connectors thru it or multi pair cables. Can also use for updating to fiber later. And before you close any walls/areas or ditches, take lots of photos!Well 50 ft CAT 8 Outdoor rated aren't that expensive. I ordered two today and caught a sale. I'm a big believer in overkill and redundacy. lol.
You see my main pc in the avatar, right?
Besides I want this to be the last time I ever crawl under the house again.
well, yeah, but I'm not the one building a house. The way to ensure no crawling is to run plastic flex conduit everywhere, 3/4" minimum and 1" minimum if you want to pull connectors thru it or multi pair cables. You won't get any complaints from me, Ricko. Having just spent a king's ransom on my latest and FINAL audio system which while still breaking in is giving me IMMENSE PLEASURE I am happy that at your 'tender' age you're finally going to realize your dream.I think the very last scene should be the final bill for all this. That alone will dissuade many to attempt and convince others that the man in North New Salem is off his rocker. Sorta an educational - documentary - self bio - comedy video. dammit - now I want to listen to Yes at work. Curse ye Petr
