I don't think you have to hit enter for it to be read. For example, today, I ordered something from Rarewaves, before I even hit enter, I received a message letting me know that I'd entered wrongly. So even without hitting enter, my info is getting read by background software -- in this case, not a fraudulent one, just one that verifies the card info.I had not clicked into this thread until today but after reading it I have to report another strange occurrence. I ordered the Elton Blu-ray from SDE on Nov. 6. I recall that I originally entered my Amex card number but then remembered I would pay the foreign tax if I used it instead of my Visa. So before I hit enter I changed the card and number.
On Thursday of this week I was informed of a fraudulent charge on my Amex for a very small charge (less then $5). Today I was informed of a fraudulent charge on the Visa for around $50. Both charges were here in the states.
Of course I cannot pinpoint that the problem was with the SDE purchase and I can’t see how the Amex# could have been retrieved since I never hit enter, but it was enough of a concern to report it here. I’ll definitely be using PayPal if/when I order anything else from there.
Have you let SDE.Com know? It still may not be from their website, but one thing that's unique in this situation is this QQ forum. Normally people get stung and can't work out how, but we have a forum that's a potential common denominator in a positive way, permitting us to realise and warn others, in case.
Yes, PayPal is clearly the smartest way now when buying from SDE.COM, just to be safe.
