Mine is not an official UPS number what the hell is happening?.

If you’re on iOS and click the RED track package it will take you to UPS. If you click the number it will take you to USPS tracking, which is correct I think. Hope this helps.

Based on my experience, UPS tracking numbers usually start with '1Z' while USPS ones are almost always just numbers. Probably will be with UPS for most of the run (Its cheaper for the post office to have UPS ship these cross country than to do it themselves) and then give it over to each local post office for the actual delivery.

Strange that a distributor (who you know... handles the distribution of media items) doesn't have a better system for sending out individual orders.

Yes, they do that. It kind of makes one wonder why UPS transfers to USPS as putting another party in the mix adds another complication and risks delays and lost packages.

I worked at UPS for 10 years before I became a sound engineer. Only the last couple of years I worked there is when the post office stuff started coming through. They undercut the hell out of USPS to ship their packages (More volume for UPS, not that much more work). All these USPS packages are small /midsize and they are mostly sorted into huge nylon bags beforehand and dumped onto the back of regular delivery trucks. Some have 200-300 post office packages on their truck. Way less time to dump at a post office and let them do the rest than deliver all those themselves (Time = huge money for UPS).

Probably because USPS is going right by that delivery address regardless.
But with UPS, they must establish a stop on a delivery route just for a package.
I agree that in reality this method probably does slow down/ screw up things!
..and so it goes...

Do you really think the shippers are worried about slow delivery or lost packages when it comes to consumer media mail type shipments.... I don't.

Just be thankful they weren't sent by Fedex
