To those who have listened to both Auro3D and Dolby Atmos, is there any noticable quality difference? Any particular preference? Of course given the same mix/master.

Are there any releases available in Auro and Atmos versions? Even without the same mix/master I'm not aware of any available in both.

And if you mean Auro as an upmixer from stereo or 5.1 (I'm not clear on what Aura 3D means exactly) that would make no sense to compare against genuine Atmos which is likely discrete 7.1.4.

Flu shot. Sore shoulder. lol
Got a Covid and Flu shot as soon as they were available in October. Just found out I have Covid today. I made it through the entire pandemic without getting it but my luck ran out.
What can I say? You pay your money and you take your chances. There are no guarantees. Doctor prescribed Paxlovid today.
Hope you have better luck/success.

A flat transfer is not necessarily a good thing, in my opinion. Sometimes a track needs touchup in mastering to bring that final shine, and in a flat transfer of a tape, depending on how the album was recorded/mixed/etc., that mastering touchup may get lost.
Indeed. Goes both ways though.

Having had the Covid shot should mean your Covid isn't as bad as it would have been without the shot. Same applies to the Flu shot if you catch Flu, neither shots provide total immunity unlike the Measles shot which does.

I’ve had it twice (positive tests). Once in 2020, before the vaccines becama available, and once two and a half years ago, when it was running through the assisted living center where my dad was.

Both times I felt generally crappy for about half a day, and by the time I knew I was positive, I felt fine. Just try not to spread it around, and good luck. Heal quickly and completely.

To be sure, if there’s something wrong, it should be fixed, and I’ve heard that there are subtle EQ differences between vinyl and digital recordings (never recorded to vinyl myself).

Weird thing for me is, I've never tested positive for Covid...yet during the Covid shutdown, I got super sick and couldn't get out of bed. Yet, never tested positive. I can't remember ever being as sick as I felt for those 4 days.

A few years ago during Covid the flu got me before I could get the vaccine. I went through about two weeks of pure hell, bronchitis, etc. Went to the ER twice in one weekend.

I ended up in bed with covid for 24 hours on holiday in Amsterdam in September 2022. I'd been on a Rhine river cruise, a woman on the cruise was coughing her guts up all over the place but refused to isolate in her cabin when asked. Staff refused to intervene, which is ridiculous as the Captain has the authority to throw anyone off the ship if they have reason and knowingly not isolating should have been sufficient. Half the ship went down with covid by the time we reached Amsterdam.

Despite getting the flu vaccine every year around Columbus Day, I had a bad case of the flu last year. And even with the Covid vaccine, I've had a few cases, once when we were on vacation in Rome 2022 for my step son's wedding.

On December 16th 2024 my wife tested positive for Covid, so I took an at home test as well because I had been experiencing some disgusting phlegm for a week or so. I tested positive as well, and went to urgent care where they advised that I didn't need to take Plaxovoid because the side effects (food will have a metallic taste) are worse than the symptoms and besides that I felt fine and my breathing sounded OK.
On Friday December 20th I took the dog to the vet in the morning for a scheduled visit. I was so tired when I came home that I told my wife that I had to take a nap. I NEVER take naps. When I woke up I was very disoriented. I couldn't remember where I put the paperwork from the veterinarian, and I could only remember one name of my 7 grandkids. My wife took me to Urgent Care and when I started vomiting, they put me in an ambulance to the Emergency room. I had a seizure on the way there!

I was in Intensive Care with a tube down my throat, 2 MRIs, an epidermal and all kinds of tests. I must of had walking pneumonia for a while. I came out of the medically induced coma on Sunday the 22nd. They had administered amnesia medicine so I don't remember anything! I came home on Christmas Eve which may have been the best present I ever received!

I (finally) get to see the neurologist this afternoon to try to make sense of this whole ordeal!

During the swine flu scare a few years back it was observed that older people were less likely to be infected. Initially this was theorised to be them having been exposed decades previously to a similar strain. But in the UK we have samples from all epidemics back to before WWII and testing showed that none of them were similar. The eventual conclusion was that older people getting the flu jab year after year for several decades had given them generally heightened resistance to flu. This is still only a theory though.
