Health issues has had me down for awhile, I've was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis
Was receiving a monthly infusion that has helped greatly, but as with all drugs, it's the side effects. Ive been dealing with melanoma skin cancers popping up. Doc changed my treatment to a new drug, but only have received the first infusion of this, and was told not to expect relief till the 4th dose. So still have a couple months till, hopefully pain free........So my music has been my therapy

Just in time for winter, Paul @ EBC Electronics worked his magic on my Marantz 6300. Recapped and cleaned and ready to go.
Great service at a fair price right here in Manville NJ
Ordered a few pieces of vinyl from Rhino during their Christmas sale, and also the Quadio bundle from Joni Mitchell for half price
Tracking shows them being delivered wednesday
Plus a few from CDJapan, as Ive finally learned how great the sound is with SACDs

Now it's time for me to step up my game on a cart, which I know absolutely nothing about.
AT seems to be the leader from my reading on whats available, and getting one of Norio Shibata's style carts is the right direction to go.
Just not sure if my old ears will hear the difference between a $200 and a $400 cart

What a learning curve this has been, going from 1976 tech, straight to the current technology with no stops in between

Sorry to hear about your medical troubles, music may not cure anything but it can really help distract - the Joni Mitchell is brilliant.

Should we assume that you’re talking about a stereo cartridge to play newly pressed vinyl? If I’m not mistaken, you don’t have a stash of CD4 quad discs that you’re trying to play(however, if you do then @edisonbaggins is your guy!).

I no longer have a turntable, and my paltry collection of vinyl comes from bloated box sets where vinyl was included with the desired surround blu rays. I do, however, have vague recollections of hearing good things about Ortofon carts that won’t break the bank.

Welp, hrs and hrs spent in Verizon(s) store and online trying to get these dumb fuksticks to understand I lost my phone, I don't want to spend $1000 to only have the phone pop up the next day. I have my old S10 that I want to get a new sim card, to get me a phone and get my texts (something that I thought was easy to comprehend)
Every store I went to are only interested in selling. I got up and walked out at one store, which I would have never done 30 yrs ago. The one agent found out what I needed, went in the back, came out and completely ignored me. Too old to fight and too old to yell.....LOL
I have found out that not all are company stores, but this one was, Woodbridge Mall. The only way I'll every go back, is if this store catches fire and I need to take a leak!

I have since learned, that since I bought my phone elsewhere ( I thought once the phone was connected to a service, all the phones info was known, aka a handshake) and approx. 5 yrs ago, I called Verizon looking for a better price than the $60 I paid per month for 1 line. The agent put me on a prepaid vs postpaid, which I thought was no big deal at the time, made my monthly payment $25 for 1 line 5 gigs, unlimited text & calls. Sounded like a good deaL UNTIL YOU NEED CUSTOMER SERVICE.
Verizon has a different Customer Service for prepaid customers and you're treated like $hit.......I just expected to be treated better as I have been a customer since the 80's

Finally after another hr on the laptop with Verizon PREPAID customer service, typing my name and phone number 3 times, they are mailing me a new sim card which, will take a week........
My dumbass thought what's the difference if I pay before or after my monthly plan? Well, I tell you, the company acts like can't give you the time of day IF you prepay per month.

I have a friend (whom I had lunch with yesterday) has Xfinity cell service with and is very happy.
Xfinity has a news S24 for $859 and monthly service for $40
Which will have me cutting off my nose to spite my face, but my stress level is a 10 with these clowns

If there is a silver lining to all this...............NO SPAM CALLS

It appears that you have the “what customer service blues?” blues; it’s everywhere!!!

If it makes you feel any better, it’s Christmas season which means that a week will fly by in the blink of an eye! Now, all you need to rely on is holiday season snail mail!

Never gave Amy Winehouse the time of day until I heard her version of Valerie. Not as good as the 60's version, IDK the artist. Which Iam sure everyone here does
Anyway took a stab at Black to Black and ordered and it arrived yesterday. Also the double TUSK album from Rhino was on my doorstep. Too stressed to even considering opening them up yesterday. So today is my day to breath deep and relax and spin some vinyl.

Too add, RHINO needs a few kudo's for the excellent job in packaging vinyl. I'd say a far better job than the seller of B2B by Amy and far better than their packaging of the Quadios. I'll see what my next shipment looks like

I still haven't really embraces the "smart phone". I just have a generic Android running thing I paid $100 for a few years ago. Republic wireless apparently changed to Boost Mobile a year ago. The bill is still $20/month. I call and text. Mobile internet use would need reading glasses or something. I haven't looked up installing Linux and taking ownership or whatever the heck one does to make a phone more like a computer that I myself own and have full root access to and no mysteries. I assume all calls and texts are fully public facing and recorded.

I guess it's fine? I save getting upset for if a surround sound release comes out screwed up!
