1979. What were You doing ?

I was a grad student in Austin who was briefly a production assistant on a movie being shot in the area (there were two movie companies shooting at the same time, actually, with occasional visits from the other's sets). Lots of big names walking around town. "Wanna go to Santa Monica?" The proverbial road not taken -- wound up with a scholarship to Scotland instead, which was much more exciting ;) .

Damn, you had a 50/50 chance there and went the wrong way. It was Saxon, "Denim And Leather".
It was a deep track and I didn't give you much to go on so good job narrowing it down to two bands!
I had that on vinyl, absolutely loved it. It was one of my many original vinyls that had to be sold so I could make a car payment...way back. :(

at this point in 1979 I was a Junior in high school and it was right about now that my friends convinced me to try marijuana for the first time. I remember we went to Benji's parents house prior to the typical Friday night high school dance after the basketball game. And I did inhale. After, I remember standing in line at the dance and it was all a blur..................damn friends.......

Their first 3 albums were awesome; Strong Arm Of The Law, Wheels Of Steel, and Denim and Leather. I remember discovering Saxon, Iron Maiden, a band called Riot (Fire Down Under), and The Scorpions (Tokyo Tapes) all within a few months of each other sometime in the 80/81 era.

Glad to hear you liked the content of the new DT album. It gives me hope. I still haven't gotten mine yet so I haven't heard it. Listening to Scenes From A Memory (my favorite) right now in preparation.

Haha, I was a senior and I got turned onto MJ in Dec of 1978 going to a Nugent concert. By the time I graduated in May of 79 I was an every day user. By July of 79 I was dropping acid. LOL
So even though we were a year apart my road was pretty much parallels yours (well, maybe not the acid part).

1979 = this helps to remember: Dave Pegg's Tull debut. (replacing John Glascock on bass).

My camera froze. Below zero from the front deck. About -12 degrees. But that breeze...no idea the chill temp. Not the best images....but it was not my fault! Never is! :ROFLMAO:
Brought the camera from warm house outside, and man it really screwed things up for a bit... :giggle:
Have a great weekend~

You are way too critical of your own work. Both shots are awesome.(y)
